  1. I have tried single wicking my 3 3/4 inch diameter apothecary jar with so many wicks and I finally thought I had one..CD 22 but it only worked with 1 oil and no other's at all :( I think I am going to just try to double wicking again like I did in the past but really wanted to single.

When I double wicked years ago I used ECO 6 but I will be testing with HTP, LX, CD, Cotton, Premier to name a few..can't remember the other's I have samples of lol.

I have been SO frustrated with wicking that I have given it a break for a while and concentrating on just wax melts right now.

Good Luck though :) You will figure it out.

  2. The 2nd time I came back I would have brought some wax melts in a little brown paper bag for my clerk lol. Perhaps you would have brightened someone's day and in the future gotten some new customer's and next time you come in they will be excited to see you and treat you better LOL.....

  3. I really like all three of these FO's from Just Scent but want to rename them.

The Wipe Out is FABULOUS and the splash of mint in it really makes it an enjoyable fragrance. I, however, don't think of an ocean when I smell this. More like a minty day spa, relaxation smell.

Blonde Moment: To me it smells like grape Kool-Aid or sweet tarts but I don't want to call it either of those. I was thinking something along the lines of using the word Childlike or Childhood..references to being a kid because it brings back childhood memories of drinking Kool-Aid in the summer for me but don't want to call it Childhood Memories lol. Stuck on a name for this one.

Morning Buzz: If you have used this one before please let me know if you smell any coffee notes in this because I do not. I smell a bunch of cinnamon and some sugar and maybe a weird something else added but do not smell any coffee so I don't think I could label this a coffee scent.

Any name suggestions from anyone that has personally tested these 3 FO's would be apprecaited :)

    Thanks so much!

  4. Just thought I would let ya all know what the final outcome was. I never did get a new melter shipped to me like they said. Instead they sent me a new light bulb and after I put that in and tested was still getting too hot of a melt pool and after telling them about it this was the response:

The ceramic does get that hot to keep the wax around 140-160 degrees. If you are only putting in a few cubes of wax then you may be reading the ceramic temperature. We have filled those all the way with wax and have read the temp and it is in that range, we have also only put in 1 small piece and gotten the same results as you. We believe that it is the ceramic and not the wax because there isn’t a whole lot of wax there to read. The warmer is only there to supply power to the bulb, the bulb is what heats the wax. The bulb is only designed to put off so much heat and can’t heat more than that. We actually have a testing area here with about 30 illuminations going full time over the last 6 months so we have some pretty good data on those. These do get hotter than the scentsy ones because we do use a stronger bulb. We have noticed that the scentsy warmers don’t always melt all the wax when you put a larger amount in and that is why we chose to use a stronger bulb.

So, needless to say, I guess I am just stuck with this warmer that reaches 230 degrees with my 1 wax melt (approx 1 oz). Unless I want to put 3-4 wax melts in this to keep the temp lower, which I don't want to do.

I will just continue to use my Better Home and Garden's melters from Walmart for $15 that work awesome with a temp of 175!

  5. I recently contacted candlewarmers because my 1 oz wax melt made with 100 % soy reaches 220 degrees. This was the response I got:

With all that being said, I still think my Snowman candlewarmer get's way too hot if my melt pool is 220 degrees and that is just the melt pool, not the ceramic dish. I won't be purchasing the candlewarmers again, I will stick with the $15 Walmart Better Home and Garden's brand that work AWESOME and reach only 170-180 degrees melt pool. I do not want to put 2 of my 1 oz wax melts in a melter and that is basically what it looks like I would have to do to not have the candlewarmer melter reach such a hot temperature.

  6. Alajane, check out Scentsationals. Their warmers are the best we've found at a reasonable price. Customer service is great. Replacement bulbs can be purchased from Home Depot for $3.87 for a pack of four. We have sold OBI and Candlewarmers in the past, but Scentsationals are the best. Price is a little higher than Candlewarmers, but the shipping is less making them about the same. Quality is light years ahead of any others we have found. The warmers resemble Scentsy's.

Walmart sell's Scentsational brand melters for $15 and they sure are cute!

  7. When you break up a cube/cavity of soy wax does it come out perfect and no crumbles? I just tried to pop one cub out of the clamshell and it did not look pretty. The wax crumbled and took some of the top part with it of the next cavity lol. I just assumed they would each pop out beautiful squares...never used these before so wanted to get some opinions.

    I use 70% Container/30% Votive.

  8. I've ordered quite a few of her BB oils -- using the OP's rating system (1-5), below are my opinions on the following oils as far as strength in tarts made with parasoy wax:

    Blonde Moment - 4.5

    Vanilla Shake - 3

    Vanilla Silk - 4

Bear Claws - 5 (very strong but does not smell like Bear Claws to me)

    Candy Bar Cookie - 4.5

    Christmas Cabin - 3

    Christmas Garland - 4

Coffee Cake & Spice - 4 (I've had better from other suppliers)

    Fall Harvest - 3

Loverboy - 2 (this one is better suited for b&B)

    Praline Pound Cake - 4

    Pumpkin Caramel Cake - 3

    Pumpkin Crunch Pie - 3.5

    Raisin Bread w/ Frosting - 3

Hope this info can help someone :)

I love Blonde Moment OOB. I wouldn't want to call it that though...what other names would you suggest? It smells so good and such an amazing and different scent it is really hard to describe.

  9. Cotton Sheets BB from Just Scent lasted 42 hours in my large finished basement and to be honest, probably would have went even longer but I was ready for a new scent after 3 day's of the same one LOL.

It will definitely be a keeper, awesome HT!

  10. I haven't tested it yet, just made the melts yesterday and with my wax I like to wait a week minimum before I test. I will let you know when I do. OOB it smells very similar to me, but I won't know for sure unless I test it. It may throw a completely different smell than VBC.

OOB on all the other FO's smelled really good! The Morning Buzz smells like a very strong cinnamon smell with something else in it, I smell absolutely NO coffee like it is suppose to have but I have to admit, I really like it. Don't think I will be able to call it coffee anything if I keep it. Out of all the bottles, the only one that I was not impressed with was the Vanilla Caramel, it has absolutely NO smell at all, almost like a faint plastic/chemical smell, I almost thought it was water :( Haven't made melts with it yet though so I am really hoping it will have a vanilla caramel smell.

For some reason the computer wouldn't allow me to add text with my pic so I had to download my pic first. Here is my question.

HOW are you guy's getting 3.0 to 3.3 oz of just wax in your clamshells? The pics above are from Eclamshells #1524 and one is filled with 2.05 oz wax and the other is 2.50. If I put more than 2.5 oz wax I think it would run over the container.

Let me know if these pictures aren't good enough and you would need a closer one to see what I am talking about.

    Thanks so much

  12. I am using a blend of Enchanted Lights Container & Votive soy wax. I just recently switched over to EL and at first was not happy because I used Ecosoya before and within 2 day's had an amazing CT with Ecosoya. My Ecosoya melts would throw about 15 hours and I thought that was awesome! Well, using EL wax it takes about 4 days to a week to get a good CT and HT. But the wait is well worth it because now I get a minimum of 30 hours HT in my electric melters (melted wax temp is around 160 degrees in my melter).

It may be just my wax that does SO well with Just Scent oil's I don't know because I am still in the process of testing my NG and other FO's in this wax for melts. I know Bedtime Dreams(NG) and Jamacai Me Crazy(NG) have done horrible for HT using Ecosoya, C-3 and EL wax :( Just not too happy with these 2 FO's from NG personally.

I think I should note: I say 15 hours a day because I start my melter at 7am and put it out at 10pm (I am a stay at home Mom and therefore can be home all day and test my melts)

  13. I recently ordered from JS for the first time:

    Lilac

    Abercrombie & Fitch Type Fierce

    Spiced Apple Pecan

    Eucalyptus Spearmint

    Flip Flop

    Toasted Marshmallow

    Vanilla Buttercream Crunch

    Gain Type

    Clean Crisp Cotton Sheets

    Snuggle Wild Orchard Vanilla Type

I have to say, I will definitely order from her again. I made soy wax melts and got a good throw on almost all of the oil's at 8%.

With that said, I LOVE NG also and have ordered from them for years. I have had quite a few scents that did not do well for me from them though but that won't stop me from ordering from them again because I only carry scents that will throw for 30 hours minimum and some of NG's that failed for me only lasted 1 day or about 15 hours.

I just ordered 10 more scents from Just Scent and hope they are just as awesome as my last order! The customer service is super fast and awesome and next day shipping :)

  14. Testing Clean, Crisp, Cotton Sheets (changed to BB line called Cotton Sheets) and I normally DO NOT like clean and fresh smell's but I really like this scent. It is going strong for 10 hours so far and is not too overpowerfully strong that it feels like you are choking with the scent like a few fresh & clean's have done with me. I am really surprised I like this scent, but it really smells like fresh clean crisp sheets lol.

I have been getting a minimum of 30 hours on all the FO's I have tested from Just Scent so I am sure this one will be going for a few more day's!!

  15. I'll let you know about the VV FO thanks for thinking of me. As for the cupcake molds I got them off of the classies here. 9 of them. I couldn't pass them up:-)

You know we should go over to CS website and the people that have had good experiences with it write a short review or even if you didn't like it write one. Just a thought :-)

Something really strange about CS...a couple of the FO's I ordered last time weren't that great and CS only posted the positive reviews I posted on the FO's that I loved and none of the reviews that stated I wasn't too happy with the FO's..I even tried posting it twice and still not on the site...ODD.

  16. I order from 5 different suppliers (Natures Garden, Candles of the Earth, Just Scent, Enchanted Lights, Candlescience) All my suppliers have different scents that are awesome and some that aren't in each category. I haven't found that only 1 supplier has good baking scents, floral scents, fruity, fresh & clean scents, woodsy & musk scents. They all have good/bad in all categories.

  17. I ordered mine from prestopotwaxmelter.com for $59.95 plus $16.95 shipping ($76.90) or you can order 2 pots for $117.90 ($58.95 each) without shipping.

I have used mine for 3 years with the spigot and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Have not had any problems at all with the spigot

and it actually makes my work alot faster. I don't add any FO or dye in the actual presto pot, just the wax.
