  1. Looking around I find: LP: Lowest density- most commonly used for plain gel candles. Not the best gel wax for suspending objects.

not to seem misunderstood and to clarify, when they say plain gel candles, they mean pies and the wine in a glass candle, or do they mean just in a container with an embed at the bottom and pour over it with no colour or scent, and only the latter? or do you use MP for the pies as for the embeds and strength to hold crust or lattuce on, or is the LP enough for the scent color and embeds. I've been through the Pie Tutorial, but just states Gel Wax...TIA

  2. I just love the little snowmen, Ron! How much does each weigh, approximately? And what type of wax did you use?

Keep posting pics; enjoy seeing your work! :-)

Each one is between .43 and .47 oz, and my bad, the wax I used this time was a 50/50 blend of Soy and Paraffin with 8% FO load, I did not subtract the weight from the wax because of the melt making never any left over as long as I have a moould to add it too :) As long as my cam is charged I will keep posting pics :) thanks, I am just glad people are looking and hopefully motivate some :), thanks for the comment and the look Ravens :)

  3. Oh my gosh Ron, your Jesus ones are awesome, well, they all are but those are my favorites. How much do you sell them for? Those look way to time consuming, I'd make it bout thirty seconds I think. Boy, your a talented whipper snapper now ain't ya? Candles, tarts, wood crafts. I just sent ya a pm too a bit ago. Nice to meet you!

  5. wanna seeeeeeee!!!!!!

LOL, and so you shall, I just finished pouring actually, as the moon is out :) I ended up pouring 3 different scents tonight tho..

My 1st was Cucumber/Melon then Lilacs then Sugar Cookies, the aromas that are in the house are amazing, I just hope the CT/HT will be the same, here's to hoping...lol. I will post the pics here tomorrow after the gentle cool down. Hope everyone had a fun awesome weekend!

  6. those look great !

I do have a question though .... what does the 5% paraffin do for the soy ?

For me when I used 100% soy when I popped them out of the clamshell they fell apart into the seperated squares, I wanted them to be whole so the cus would be able to break the chunks off themselves, so by adding the 5% it gave it enough strength to come out as a whole.
  7. Hmmm what a way to get rid of all of the bloody beanie babies my kids & I collected! Just kidding, kinda!

Well let me know if you do and how it works out, I have seen alot of short to no fur out there, wondering what it would look like when dried....if I decide to get one the next time out, I will let you know how it turnes out...

  8. Aren't they fun? I just made one in Butt Naked. A bear family is a great idea!

Yes they are fun. It was kind of a different phase, to hit the correct time to start working the fur, but in all had a blast. Thanks, now to just come up with the correct "naming convention" to grab attention...

  9. Hobby Lobby gel wax is LP or low density wax.

Thank you for the information Vicky, I appreciate it. Well that has saved me a bunch of time as I was going to use it to practice suspension and forever candles as per your tutorial on the Double Glass instructions, which was very good BTW..., so now to find a not so costly HP gel wax to play with...again thanks to all for the information that you could provide.

  10. Hey All,

I purchased the 7lb bucket of gel wax from (Hobby Lobby) for the 34.99, used the 40% coupon, so not so bad, now I know some are going to say yuck to the gel and supplier, I know, but is cheap enough to play with for now....learn on the bad, make with the good..lol

my question is this, I have read many many posts about Gel wax being high medium and low density...does anyone out there know what this bucket is? as there are no indications on the label nor does the supplier/manufact answer to our lonely emails...so I figured I would ask here incase someone already knew....TIA

  11. To suspend items, could you not use fishing line or some kind of thread, pour your gel in, then add your item to display in while hanging on the thread, and when the gel is cool enough just pull thread or fishing line out and the item will be suspended? Hope this gives out some ideas..HTH

  12. Thanks ksranch, nope to the website, and for a buffalo, I could draw something up and create, most of my designs are purchased, and some I draw to the specs of a customer, I will go through my pile of patterns and see what I can find. Is there something in particular that you are looking for?

Edit: most of my designs should be, most of my patterns....
