Went to check out there store. Ask the lady if they were soy candles and she says no. She said there is no difference between soy and parrafin! I said really, I opened a jar and said oh the tops are so rough. She said we have smooth tops over here all they do is cook the wax for hours for it to become smooth. The ladies did not seem very friendly!
I am with you crazzie, people that work in any industry should have a grasp on their job at hand. If you are working to serve the public, you should have at the minimum common knowledge about the products you are working with. Can you imagine going to a restaurant and asking about the dinner menu and the server has no idea about any of the food. Would you still want to eat there?

Trying out the dipped TP for a craft show on Saturday.

I packaged them in 4x4 clear boxes and will sell them with a rustic tins that I got from C&S.
Hey PAgirl89, was just wondering how your TP went at your craftshow on Sat. ? Did the TP go over well ?

Thank you lmc for the kind words....it is huge amounts of time that go into some projects, but to see the admiration on the buyers face as to the purchase they just made seems to melt the hours and hard work put into the piece...They're awesome...I know the amount of time you put into those (my mom carves and wood burns) and I admire (envy) your creative mind -
Hats off to you, Ron; beautiful work. I could never do that.... can't even cut a straight line with a pair of scissors, never mind such intricate wood work
Congratulations!
Thanks Ravens, it is not easy to get into, one false move, one wandering sneeze and "poof" 20+ hours of work just became designer firewood....ouch! it only happended once....Yoda from Star Wars lost his nose, and I lost 16 hours of work....so be it. But all in all I enjoy it when cus. come in and see the work in person and to hear the ooo's and awww's is worth it!

thank you kimmeroo. I wonder if you can use any type of wax for the TP, I would guess you could....

I also have an old wire book rack that has a perfect slant on the top that holds up to 12 candles at once.
That sounds awesome, its another thing I was looking for, was to be able to make 10-12 at once and not have to wait for the cool down process so that I can add more product to my device. Ahhh well back to the old drawing board I guess

This was along the lines I was thinking Scented... have one device that I can use over and over, with different angles all in one machine.....easier to remove wax from wood or the like than diggin it out of rice or beans....My tilters are built so that I can vary my angles with a single push. -
That is exactly my point Stella , since I have so much wood on hand I can make something from home...unless, I can buy it for cheaper than it would be for me to fabricate one...I can't see any advantage to buying something which can be easily fabricated at home... -
For the angles, to make Layered Candles, some use rice, beans, sand...and some have made a tilter to hold your moulds...I have found a couple on here one by Scent Cellar and another by Soja who took the first design and made some different details to it. I was wondering if there is anything new on the market to use, or would it be beneficial to create one?

Thanks! I picked up some regular size TP at the store, 4 rolls for $1! Figured I can sell the dipped TP for about $7.00 a roll and make a nice profit!
It sure is a thing of beauty to get items that we can use to make a nice profit.

I think that's a grand idea, especially with a little scoop. One could then mix scents like with fancy jelly belly candies... 2 scoops Blueberry + 1 scoop of nut bread = Blueberry Muffins sort of thing. People like novelty items like that.
Love the idea of mixing to come up with a different recipe....great post Stella....

Scoopable melts....not a bad idea....crumble cake crumbs....pie crumbs....wax crumbs....hmmmmfabulous idea, love the colors.. scoopable melts is a great idea. -
AWESOME job ladysj, made my mouth water when I saw it!!My first root beer candle. I should have let the foam cool a little more so where it would have thick form down the sides but I think it turned out not bad for a first. lol
