Thanks Sandra, yes, they did email a proof BUT the actual label is not here yet. They were nice enough to allow a very small run for me to try, I did have to pay a small amount, but their normal minimum run was too large for me without having sample in hand, I'm sure you know what I mean. We've ordered several times from them so glad they stepped up to the plate for a current customer, so many will not.

Thanks Stella, 100% agree on the FTC labeling regulations, the net weight is on a clear label with the scent, on the bottom of the jar, as with our other candles.
As to the use of all natural, that was only in the layout and subsequently removed. We did have a professional look into the use of "natural" on our products and he gave a determination that at one point we were good with and now not, I will share that with you at some point if you are interested. Its quite interesting. I should add that IF an additional "opinion" that we are waiting on supports the first, we will again add it to our labeling.

Tracey, Sandra, Periwinkle....Thank you for taking a look and all the kind words!! (I will pass along to the sisters Tracey)

I love the containers - I've never been one to favor the plain candles, but in these containers I would sure buy them! Very nice!
No THAT is like music to my ears!! We get tired of the plain wax at times too and lucked out with these containers. Thank you very much!

Thanks Debbie!!!
Tracey, you CRACK ME UP!!! Soon friend....soon I know, I can't wait to have the actual label in my hand then on the jar, FINGERS CROSSED that it looks good. Thank you!!!

WELL DONE!! Really attractive candle, and your first one!! Super! Sounds like you're on the right track with wicking down, although I don't use wooden wicks, I would have to agree with your decision that its over wicked, based on that quick MP. Keep going....beautiful product!

Thank you Debbie! How perfect that black/white/silver is your color scheme, they will look so great!! Great shipping too, to "Joisey" from CA...not bad! Will be back soon with some more pics. Have fun with the new jars!

Hey there MoonShine!! Ha ha...I know, right? Wait until you see them in your hand, you'll LOVE them!! You know the funny thing, I mentioned earlier that we started using them for our new mens line and now....the mens line looks the best!! The black jars just went with the color scheme, its just not right
I did order the plastic lids because I was pretty certain that I would label the jars, but now I'm thinking a different lid and lable the lid. Guess I'll have to wait until the samples get here. Have fun testing! I'll get some photos up later in the week when the sample labels get here. Hope you'll let me know how your testing goes!

I would like to know what wick also I have been looking at those jars drooling & I'd also like to see pics of the label you came up with as well. Where can I find black labels?
I will be testing a semi gloss black label, custom printed from print my thing. Not sure where to buy the blank labels, but print my thing does a super job at the custom printing. We'll decide once we recieve the 2 samples. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words Stella, we were thinking the same thing so we're going to pour another tester tomorrow, CD14 this time just to see if we get a bit more cleanup. I'm waiting for 2 label samples now, and as promised will post some more photos, they must be custom, as you mentioned, so we'll see how they go. The lid label may win out. This has been a tricky jar to work with but I think it will be worth it. Its our new men's line and just received our state registration (common law trademark) on the graphic/slogan, mabye we'll pay for the federal registration if things go well. Thanks again !
PS: For those that asked, we used a CD12 wick, thanks for looking.

Hi Tracey!! I like it too! I didn't get the chrome, but good to know about the clear glass bottom. You WILL love the black ones though. I did get the plastic tops they fit and look super. I am still testing the entire label thing, they are almost too nice to slap a label on. I will post some pics to get your opinion when ready, if you don't mind.

It will take no time at all, I will shoot them when I get home and post here, should be tomorrow evening or Saturday morning. I think you will like what you see, really sharp.

I have a question... From the photo, it appears that the container is not opaque black, but translucent - just very dark. Am I correct about this? I want the glow of the flame to still be visible, even if somewhat muted. Do you know if the chrome-coated containers are also translucent? Thanks! :smiley2:
Hi there Stella, yes you are correct, the glow of the flame is still visible. If you like I will shoot some photos and post here. I am on the road this week but back home tomorrow and will be happy to post some photos if you like.
Edited to say: Can't chime in on the chrome ones.

kandlekrazy, Thank you!
You will LOVE the black glass, a little expensive but worth every penny!!
-
Hmmmm gold, then you can charge $65 a candle! Lol!
That's because we both have soooo many sisters, Susan!
You are sooooooooooooooo right !

Hey there Tracey, you and sister #1 think very much alike!!
I will start the layout and hopefully be able to get (2) samples, both black with yellowish gold lettering, in a matte and semi gloss black label. I'm with you and sister #1, the only way to go is black on black, anything else might look cheesy??
ClassicCandle...great minds.....WOW, so many creative thinkers here, not me though, I just do what I'm asked to when it comes to "branding"
-
Beautiful jar...beautiful burning candle. Congrats!
Thanks very, very much! Going to begin the "branding" phase now, that should be a real treat....(not), we'll see. The clear labels (no label look) just are not cutting it because of the black glass, no mater WHAT color ink I use, but we'll get there....
Thanks again for the kind words!

Thanks Stella! HT is really great, leather FO (had to test that too). I love these containers too, its the labeling that scares me:)
-
This is one of those times I can say I was glad I was wrong!
Right, wrong, or indifferent....ALWAYS thankful for the input! I was really sweating this one though, didn't want to have to test too many of these jars, too $$$
-
Nice Job!! Love the color! You must be very happy! I'm not familiar with bees wax, I pour soy, but I have to ask, when you say "yellow bees wax" do you color it or is that how it comes? What scent are the candles?
-
I was rooting for you!!!!!
You always do Tracey and its REALLY, REALLY appreciated!!!!! Thank you!!

Hi there MoonShine! Thank you! Yes, our plan is to label the jar, now that may change once the actual label gets here, and as promised I will post a pic of the jar with the label on it. If it does not work out then we'll need to go with label on the lid, we'll see. I can totally relate to the time spent on printing your own labels, getting them custom made will change your world! We've only starte doing custom labels and it really makes all the difference. We started by using "stickers" because they were most econmical, $77 for (250) of them. If you want some help with setting up the label, etc. feel free to PM me and I will be more than happy to get you to the site and help walk you through the process if you like. Believe me it took me so much time to FINALLY find the right company. Let me know how I can help you, I'll be happy to send you some photos of how the "sticker" looks on a candle, the term sticker does not do it justice. You will love them!
Edited to say: The black label is a semi-gloss label and not as reasonable as the "sticker" that I refer to, but we wanted a specific look for the black jar, it was tough.
