I was surprised at how much lower the cost to ship on pirate ship if it is "a box in a bag" instead of just a box. I actually MADE a bag out of a couple grocery bags, heat shrunk them together around the box and was good to go. Saved a couple bucks!

Aztec has "poptail" scents. they did not seem boozy enough to me tho, so I mixed a little bourbon or whiskey scent with them.

I was going to say that my candles sometimes crack when they are exposed to cold temperatures. But not like THAT! Never seen anything like it! Sorry you are going thru this.

I use CS but was gifted a sample candle with WSP's FF and it was awesome! Its a bit pricey for me so I am sticking with the CS version.
Has anyone compared WSP & CS recently? I love the one from WSP but would like to save $$ if CS's is still pretty close?

I've had to do that sometimes. I tell them it's best to wait at least a week before burning. Not sure if they follow those instructions, but never had any complaints.

I did create an excel pricing workbook some time back when I was on the board before. Happy to re-share that if anyone is interested? If people want it, I will create a thread on the business section.

Speaking of combustible: Does anybody put glitter on top of their wax on candles? I saw this at a craft fair, done by a long time chandler. completely covered the surface. Is there a safe glitter? Even if not combustible, wouldn't it clog the wick? It was pretty, but really?

Yeah, I doubt they will come down again.

Yes they are insane. I am in Ca too. The best we can do is order from the nearest supplier to save on shipping. For me it is candlescience, as they ship out of Reno.

candlesoylutions has a good strong one

do you mean 2 scents blended, or 2 scents layered. I blend scents all the time. Its a good idea to do a q-tip test like moonshine said. Dip the q-tip in your scents then put it in a plastic baggie for a few minutes, then sniff. I used to make layered candles, but they didn't sell very well. The layers work fine and when you get to the middle line you get a bit of both scents at the same time for a bit, so you would want to layer scents that smell nice together.

They look beautiful!

Well, I have only ever used an inkjet. I am using a cheapo canon pixma right now. I do mean cheap, initial cost only about $40. For the price it has been a real workhorse. I use a lot of color on my lables. I was thinking of upgrading?? to laser, but a color laser printer seems SOOO expensive. Of course the cost of ink is a factor but I wait for the sales from online ink places and stock up.

For most of my in person sales I use brown or white lunch bags, I have a stamp with my company name and info, and a stamp of my logo. (same as my avatar).. My husband stamps the bags for me while he is watching tv . This is the least expensive option I've found. People tell me the bags are cute.
