I love your funky chunky candles, especially the square ones. Beautiful. *****
-
Those are lovely Sabrina, as usual.

Oh scented, I'm drooling, they are fabulous.
-
The blue one (in the middle) definitely jumped out at me as far as spookiness and the colours in that are fabulous - I'd use that one.
-
I also love the colours and the layers look great. Good job.
-
Beautiful beading and candles and I hope the oil situation improves superfast. Every little helps and your contribution will no doubt be appreciated and valued - well done.

I love all of those, the colours are beautiful.

Your candles look beautiful and the colours are vibrant and rich. Lovely.

Those cinnamon buns look good enough to eat. The colours are beautiful.

Hi Linda, Those colours look great - I like it. If you want to get smooth lines, try heat gunning the mould a little on the outside near the top of the layer you have just poured, that way the top of the new layer will be smoothed out where it touches the mould. Like you have already said, it's just practice. Well done.

They're beautiful - well done.

I'm only making a couple more today and then I shall have to get stuck into jewellery making, so I'll give you guys a rest then, inbetween I shall be running backwards and forwards to radiotherapy everyday for the next six weeks - life is never boring! These are yesterday's - I actually made four but the other two were begging for a remelt so today I've made them purple and am pouring them now - no doubt I'll put them in the gallery tomorrow. I've fragranced them a blend I like - orange, sandalwood and cinnamon - it smells great. Hope you enjoy looking, Cheers,

Thank you all. I've already got a request for another candle party following the upcoming Sunday one, from a lovely neighbour who has just discovered I create candles so I shall be a busy bee in the next few weeks. As long as I can keep making them I'm happy.

Hi everyone, Here are some more chunky candles and a group of brown mottles to add to my collection - I'm hoping a lot of them will sell next Sunday. I hope you enjoy having a look. The coffee mottles photo turned out a bit blurry, but I think you'll get the general idea of what they look like. Cheers,

I am drooling, all that space is fantastic and I love it.

That mottle looks fabulous.

You could try it with a hair dryer but I don't think the heat would be intense enough. Have a go. Also try it without heating it and you will see the difference, you may like that too.

Hi Jo, thanks for your reply. I found pillar techniques that I had printed in 2004 when I started candlemaking, from CraftServer & other sites. I had to laugh because one of the tutorials was your exact directions! At the time I printed them I didn't understand any of it, like it was written in a foreign language. I found another technique very similar using white chunks to fill the mold. Then melt 2 different color dye blocks (pieces) separately. Pour the filling wax over the chunks and spoon drops of the melted dye (one at a time). Let the colors swirl from the convection, and let the candle cool until it’s time for the second pour. It comes out looking tied dyed or marbled, and some of the chunks make white circles. The sample pic was done in a tall pyramid, and looks a lot like a lava lamp. Different, just thought I’d share since you were so nice to reveal your magic! :highfive:
Have fun, ~ pat ~
Thanks Pat, that sounds really good and I shall give it a try.

I like them Sabrina. What is it about them that you do not like? Good rustic effect, great colours.

Hi Jo, I love all of your candles! I'm trying to get good at pillars, can you tell me if the technique you used here is filling the mold with colored chunks & pouring plain pillar wax to fill the mold?
Thanks & keep up the good work!
Hi ChaChing, Thank you for your comments. Yes, I filled the mould with triangular chunks and then poured hot plain wax over them, tapped the outside of the mould with a spoon and then heatgunned it, to melt the coloured chunks into each other a bit. Have a go at it and if you have any further queries, feel free to contact me again.
Cheers, Jo
