  1. Hey guys! Anyone know where I can get some Pier1 Bombay Blue Dupe ? I love this scent and would like to test it in my candles. Thanks in advance!
  2. LeahRB - Would you say the throw you're getting from the 6006 is comparable to that of the J223? Thanks!
  3. Thanks guys for your input. Great ideas! Think I'm going to try both techniques.
  4. Hello All! Do you use your "good containers" for testing? Or by cheaper ones ($1store) for testing purposes? I am thinking this will be best. However, it seems testing would not be accurate as I would have to test again for the more permanent containers. Specifically the wick sizes. Am I correct? What did you guys do? I don't want to spend a large amount of money in containers for testing purposes. Thanks in advance for your suggestions/help.
  5. I love the Renuzit Pearl Scents. I bought a jar of them not too long ago. The aroma beads do seem similar but I see a lot of differences as well. The Pearl Scents are more like the Orbeez balls that they're selling now. Also, they make what's called magic water beads. I've bought some trying to simulate the Renuzit Pearl Scents. I bought the clear and tried to dye them but was unsuccessful and the fragrance did not last long (not sure why). I have noticed since my experiment that they do sell the magic water beads in color but your color choices are limited. I will continue trying to figure these beads out as I think they're beautiful and would love to add them to my collection once it's complete.
  6. Thanks guys! I use 6" HTP-52 wicks and have always wondered what the difference was in the 6" HTP-52 vs 6" HTP-62 vs 6" HTP 73.... Now it makes better sense. I'm so glad to have found this forum. Thanks again
  7. Hello All! I'm about 2 months in on testing. However, I'm not so sure I'm clear on F.O and wicking. If you increase your F.O. does your wick size change? And wicks should be changed for each different fragrance? If this is true what about the wick should be changed (size, type..?) I thought the wick & wick size was chosen based upon the wax and candle jar size only. I am still learning the ropes and have become fond of this board. It has helped me out a lot. Thanks in advance
  8. Great questions try2chme. After reading responses I'm not so sure now I'm clear on F.O and wicking. If you increase your F.O. your wick size changes? And wick should be changed for each different fragrance? If this is true what about the wick should be changed (size, brand..?) I thought the wick size was only based upon the candle jar size. Hope its ok to piggy-back on this. I am learning the ropes also. Thanks!
  9. Thank you guys for your responses. @psfponies - The scent throw for me was just ok, nothing I would go out of my way to purchase. Most of the time I can not smell it unless I'm standing over it. It did not smell up the area as I expected. How long do you cure yours? @ Faerywren, I am using LX wicks but will order new wicks tonight in hopes that will help boost the scent. @Candlebuddy - Zinc is on my list to order n try. @chuck - Thanks, I do have some soy that I originally started out with and wondered if mixing it would make the difference I'm seeking - will test that. I understand some fragrances will throw more than others, I'm ok with a soft scent as long as I can smell it in the room and dont have to "sniff " it to get the scent. Because it is pre-blended am I correct in believing adding Vybar will lock my scent due to the additives being already there? Thank you guys again for all your help! :smiley2:
  10. Hello All! For the past few weeks I've been testing wax and have come to the conclusion a pre-blended soy/parrafin mix is the best fit for me. I am currently using IGI6006 but am not impressed with the scent throw. I am wondering if anyone knows of a pre-blended soy/parrafin mix with GREAT scent throw. Thanks in advance!
