  1. I wish I would have read this sooner. I placed my 2nd order ever with them on feb 5th for 10# of aroma beads and have not received them yet. I sent them an email a few days ago with my paypal transaction #(since I never received an e-mail from them with an order #) and they replied Monday to say they cant look my order # up with the paypal info?? I have a website too and I have no problems doing that with orders. Well I just disputed with paypal to get it resolved ..wish me luck.

  2. I love the look of all the oil warmers out there but I am not sure if my wax melts will work in them. How hard is it to make scented oil for the warmers. I cant remember where but I read one time your not supposed to but straight fragrance oil in them for safelty reasons.

  3. Thank you all for your suggestions. I guess I will have to get used to my ornies being a little bumpy since I have quite alot. Oh...I did get my beads to dry a little faster too. I cant take the credit though because it was my husband idea. I mix mine up in glass jars. My husband heated the oven to warm turned it off and stuck some jars in there. The beads that were so darn slow in drying, dried out in two hours. I thought they would melt but they didnt. I tried it again with some I mixed up yesterday afternoon. I only put them in there for 2 hr and took them out before work. I just got home and they are just about ready:yay:...I was so worried about these beads but I think they are going to work. I still want my old beads back though. I will try and bake them for 10 min @350 and see how they do(after I get a nap in) ;-).

    Thanks again!

Would spraying the cutters with a little cooking spry mess up the ornies? Has anyone ever tried that? I figured getting them out of the molds mihgt be easier.

  4. The ones I used to get from Alabaster melted smooth in 5-6 min, but the BC one's I have had to up it to about 10-11 min at 350 for them to bake down enough for my liking. They are not as smooth as the ones Alabaster used to carry but they are pretty close. Alot smoother than the ones I got from Aztek and had to bake longer than 10-11 min. They may get smoother (the ones from BC) if you bake a little longer but I am happy with the finish at 10-11 min.

Thanks for the info. Do you lose any fragrance when you bake them so long. Mine were sos strong almost too strong for some people.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions. I sent an e-mail to Aztec about the problem and they said they are the same beads from the same 4000# box. If that is true then they got a mixed box and I ended up with the bottom of the barrel so to speak..lol. So upsetting becuase there beads have been wonderful since August and the price is very nice. The funny thing is, this is the second item I have purchase from them that has been on sale and both times there has been a problem:sad2: Ok I am through ranting ...lol.

  6. :sad2:I have been making aroma car fresheners since this summer and they were great. The beads would soak up in 24 to 48 hrs tops. I would only have to put them in the oven for 5 min at 350 and they came out smooth and perfect everytime. I had been ordering my beads from Aztec and just got in 25#. It has been four days and I still have wet beads. I even tried to melt some and the ornies were barely bonded together and very hard to get out of the mold. I have so many orders for these. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good supplier of beads?

  7. Hello! I am brand new here, and brand new to candle making. Please excuse my very elementary question, but I am very confused. I have read lots of different things regarding the best way to melt wax. I'm not sure if I need a double boiler, roasting oven, or a Presto Pot. I read about the Presto Pot, but I am not handy enough to make a spout.

Also, how would you use a double boiler or roasting pot? I assume that with a double boiler, you would just place your pouring pitcher inside, and place the wax inside the pitcher to melt it. As for the roasting pot, I guess you would melt the wax right in the pot? How do you safely get the wax into the pouring pitcher then?

Sorry for the stupid question...I'm just confused as to what equipment I need for melting wax and would appreciate some direction and suggestions.

    Thanks! :)

I have a presto pot without the spout and it worked good for me as long as I never put in over 3lb at a time..anything more and it was a mess to pour into the pour pots.

I now have one with a spout and it was well worth it saves me alot more time too. Here is where I got mine. http://www.candlemaking.com/store/Presto-Pot-Wax-Melter-P2358C12.aspx

  8. Ok..I got my order and here are my oob thoughts..

Cranberry Relish..yep its just tart cranberry but not sure I will like it all by itself. Wax test will tell. It will be a great mixer for sure

Country Bumpkin..I cant wait to get this in wax..I like it oob....very complex in my opinion

Elf Sweat...Very sweet..I dont smell the soda pop oob..

Hippy Christmas...Love it although it reminds me of candlescience Eucalyptus mint..which happens to be a personal favorite of mine.

Reindeer poo...Nice christmas pine scent to it oob...

  9. Is ACS here in the US? Just asking because One of my suppliers is Aztec..but it could be Alibaster too. I currently use wood wicks from Bittercreek and they are very very good. I would love for others to carry them as well just in case they ever run short on stock. I have not found any to be as good as theirs.
