  1. Hi Suzanne, I would try in your big jar, I would try 2 cd 7 or 8. I've been trying to get in touch. I'll send you a private message.
  2. Hi, No I haven't. But I have an an account in Puerto Rico now, and the only way to ship, is small orders using flat rate or big orders using parcel post which can take 3-4 weeks to get there. I would really need to figure it out. Maybe just do business on the island. Just have a lot of serious thinking to do. Thank you very much.
  3. Thank you for all your insight. Their are a lot of things to consider! Great advice.
  4. I am thinking of selling my candle business bc I am moving to Puerto Rico and I don't think it will be feasable to do business from there. I am just thinking of some alternatives or whether or not I will just rent a place and make my candles from where I curretly live. I've been making candles for 14 years now. I am currently in 6 Wholefoods Market stores and a few other stores in my area. There is so much potential to grow this business but I don't have the time to make the business grow by myself. My husband helps me out alot but It could be so much bigger. I wondered if anyone would possibly be interested in buying or maybe even partnering up. Just thought I would throw this out there to test the waters and if there are any suggestions. Thank you
  5. Hi, I am just seeing this message. I still have 13 cases left if you are still interested. Thanks
  6. Thank you very much for responding. I would have never figured it out that way. I always seem to to it the long way and crazy way. I really appreciate the responses.
  7. Hello, I am trying something new. I tried blending 14 oz of one wax and 2 oz of another wax to get 16 oz. What would that ratio be? I think I am getting my self super confused trying to figure the math out. If this works, I will be adding this wax into a 100 lb melter. So If I had 50 lbs of the more dominant wax, how many lbs of the other wax should I add? I figured 6 lbs 4 oz. to every 50 lbs. does this sound right? Any help would be appreciated. confused: Thank you
  8. Hello, I've been testing this wax too. I love the smooth tops, good scent throw, but the sides are terrible. I know its designed to pull away, but I don't like the look, even though I'm usually not to picky about wet spots. I asked them if I can mix it, and they said they don't reccomend it at all. They also told me if I want adhesion to mix soy methyl ester, but that is another added cost per lb of wax. I've personally never used soy methyl ester before.
  9. Hello, I've been testing the elite as well. I love how the smooth tops are, but the sides are horrible. They told me the same thing, so preheat the jars or pour hotter. Preheating the jars really is an option for me bc I pour way to many candles to have to add another step. So I did pour hotter and it didn't work. I tested two fragrances with this wax and I got a great cold and hot throw. I did just pour an essential oil and didn't get much throw, but I think I just need to re wick my container. They did tell me to add soy methyl ester to the wax if I want to get glass adhesion. I have not yet ordered it, but I will today. Please let me know if you have gotten any better results from your testing. thanks
  10. I also poured one wax from Strahl & Pitsch that they sent me 4 kinds like a 6 months ago, but you can't find any distributors, they came out very smooth on top but the wick completely drowned. I'm not sure if I want to order a wax that you can only buy from the manufacturer. I also poured 464, enchanted lites classic and eco soya 135. I have not burned them yet. Going to let them cure for a week. I will let you know. Have you had any good luck with the formulas you were trying yet? Talk to you soon. take care

  11. So I've been starting my testing again. I finally burned an essential oil out of 464 a few months ago and it smells pretty good. I also started toburn all the ones with Vanilla that I made 4 different ways. One was 464, 464 &co, 464 & excel, 464 & calwax. I think the straight 464 smelt the strongest. I added 5% fragrance. It smelt good, the only thing is I have a two story living room and all the smells rises to the second floor instead of spreading throughout the main floor. So the upstairs smelt very good. So I've started new testing last week. My husband accidently poured c-1 instead of c-3 and they came out ok, but I put them in my car and here in GA its about 70 degrees and they all bled a lot! So I'm waiting to test the c-3. I'm waiting for some USA to add to it first.

  12. Hi Linda,

How have you been. I hope all is well. I've been very busy cleaning. I clean houses and commercial offices part time, do candles, take care of my two teenage boys! I never have time for anything. I had a bad week, I got bad news from Anchor Hocking, that they are discontinuing my jar for the second time. I was devastated because we spent about a year perfecting the wick on those jars for 30 scents and creating a label for it. So of course I don't have the money to purchase any right now. So now I have to hope that what supply they have left will last a few months. I usually purchase a pallet at a time to save money. Now I'm on the hunt for a new jar.

  13. Hi, I tested c-3 many years ago and got a good scent throw, but lots of sooting. I've ordered more c-3 about 6 months ago and still have not tested it. I heard a different manufacturer bought them out. Has the formaula change since then. I don't want to start testing and this formula has changed. Previously eco wicks were recommended. I've tried stabillos which are my favorite. Any certain wick I should try with a 3" hourglass shape jar? thanks
  14. Thanks for all your help. I am going to check it out now. Great work!!:yay:
  15. I cannot believe this too. I placed an order Dec 23 and they took my credit card info and everything. Then I realized, I never got my order, so I went to the website and they were closed. I checked my CC and they never did charge me but that is very inconsiderate of them to leave people that have small companies hanging like that. Now I have to find my oils elsewhere. I use there Magnolia, which I did find a good one at Wellington Fragance. Anyone uses JBN coconut? I need to find a dupe to that one fast. I ordered through Wellington, smells fantastic but did not throw in my wax. Any ideas? thanks
  16. thanks, everyone. I haven't done my testing yet. but will soon.
  17. Thanks, for your input. I will try a couple of test runs and see how it does.
  18. I've been experiementing with 464 wax and I get a great looking candle and I let it cure for a week, but my scent throw is not all that great. It seems to be another added cost to the candle. I would like to know what chandlers think? thanks:cheesy2:
  19. Hi soy327, Do you had CO to every scent? If you do, do you really smell a big difference? I really don't like to add extra things to the formula, because it an extra cost added to the candle, but if you noticed a substantal difference, then maybe I would try it.
  20. I buy them through anchor hocking. Thanks for your help. I still have had no time to test. Hopefully by the end of the week. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks
  21. Yes, I live in GA. I always use stabillo wicks with the standard wick coating. One day I accidently order the same wicks but with a HM wick wax, was sure what the difference was and I noticed them to mushroom more and not burn as hot. That is the difference. It should state which wax is on the wick on the label. It was a very difficult jar to wick, but after months of testing we perfectedit. Now our wax has almost doubled in price and I pay expensive freight. So I am trying to find another wax that is more local to me. I've tried the excel by itself, but It soots on the top of the jar and i did not get a good scent throw. I use high quality oils at 5-6%. I've tried the enchanted millenuim wax, 444, c3 and so far the easiest to work with is the 464. Just got to work on the scent throw and the wick sizing. I am going to try the 75/25 like you said. How long do you think I should wait to cure?
  22. Hi, I am going to try to post a pic. never have done this. If not my jar kind of looks like the interlude but it is called shell, hourglass. It is 6.3oz. When I was test ing the 464 alone some of the wicks that were working were cd 10,12,14. With my essential oils which I had to put in lower percentage, because to much made the wax spongy. With essential oils I used cd 14 & cd16. The only thing is that with my currentl wicks, when I blow out a candle it only smokes maybe 10 seconds, but with this 464, I am getting smoking up to 60 seconds. Are you using standard wick wax or HM wick wax? I am going to try to post a pic. This will be my wax that I currenly use. Thanks
  23. Hi, thanks for the info. I've been testing the 464 for awhile now with cd wicks, bc I always have good luck. I tried the 50/50 blend, it seemed okay. I am going to to the 75/25 blend like you said. I have an hourglass jar that is 6oz and it is so hard to wick this jar. Any suggestions on what size wick I should start? The top is almost 3 in then it narrow down the middle to 2". I was thinking of starting with cd 10. Any other advice? Thanks everyone for their input.
