  1. Hello. I have read conflicting information on when you should test for scent throw. What is the best time frame that you use to test your candles. I am using ecosoya advanced. Thank you, Jeanne
  2. I have been reading many posts here and other sites and I get different requirements for candle jar labels. I thought weight does not have to be on the label, but if it is then it must be net weight. Can someone tell me what the requirements are on them? Thank you
  3. I have been struggling with a wick for my votives. I got suggestions from previous posts and I'm still working with the wicks I have here before ordering more. I am using ecosoya pillar blend and I am now trying a 60-44-18C wick and it has a wonderful scent throw. Do you think this is to large for this? It was flickering in the beginning and then calmed down and had a nice melt pool after 2 hours when I put it out. Can you Tell me if this sounds crazy that such a large size wick would be used in a voitve? Thank you, Jeanne
  4. I have been reading alot of your threads and was wondering if you really have to wash all the jars prior to pouring candles? Thanks, Jeanne
  5. Hello again. I am so happy to have this group. You are all so helpful and quick to answer. I am stumped over my votives. I am using ecosoya pillar blend and I have tried, htp 31, 41, 52, 62, Lx 14 and 16 and I'm not happy with these. I have 16 burning right now and it seems ok so far but I would think that is to big as far as the wick guides on the sites such as candlescience.com. Do any of you use this wax and if so what wicks do you use for the votives? Thanks, Jeanne
  6. Thank you for all the suggestions. I will shop around also. Jeanne
  7. Great. Thank you both for your quick replies. Jeanne
  8. I am testing a 9 oz hexagon jar and it burned wonderful. Great melt pool, etc. My question is that since it is nearing the bottom it is showing black around the top of the jar. It this normal? Thanks
  9. Hello. I'm so confused. I am using Ecosoya advanced was and I can't get my 8 oz tureen and my 8 oz colonial jars to burn right. I am using HTP wicks and have tried alot. The tureen was not enough with the 105 and to much burn with the 126 and 1212. The colonial I have tried also and I even tried double wicking. I used 2 htp 73's and it was to much, then I tried 2 htp 52's and it was not enough and then 2 htp 62's and that was very close. If any of you are using this wax and htp wicks I would love to hear from you. I have tried all wick guides and I'm starting to get upset. Thanks, Jeanne
  10. I am trying to find some local but not having any luck. Thank you
  11. Hello. Does anyone know of any suppliers you can get good shipping prices on candle jars? Thanks, Jeanne
  12. Ok. I am using an 8 oz. tureen jar and and 8 oz. colonial jar with ecosoya cb135 wax. I used 1 1/2 oz. fragrance also. The wicks I used are htp 126 for tureen and 1212 for colonial. Thanks again
  13. I tried using 1 oz and 1 1/2 oz fragrance. What is a cd wick? Thanks
  14. I am testing 2 different fragrances and the results are the wicks are great in one fragrance and the other fragrance they are smoking and burning to hot. Should I put less fragrance in that one or should I change the wick size? I can't believe the same containers would be that much different because of a fragrance, but I'm new at this so it is probably true. Thanks again, Jeanne
  15. Yes, I'm burning them in a tight votive container. I have used HTP 41, 52 and LX 14.
  16. I poured some container candles yesterday using ecosoya cb135 and 25% ecosoya advanced blend. The candles look beautiful but the side of the jar look frosted? They are making the wax lighter than the top of the candle. Do I need to heat my jars? Thanks, Jeanne
  17. I have been using the ecosoya pillar blend for votives and tarts. They come out looking great but seem to melt thru when burning leaving wax around the sides and then burning the wick out. Any suggestions? Should they burn this way? Jeanne
  18. I only have to do one pour with this wax and they are great looking. They burn down the middle leaving wax all on the sides then it burns the wick out. I will also try the natural wax section as you suggested. I am new here and didn't realize it was there. Thanks again
