I was still pouring christmas scents last night to restock the store since we were hit hard yesterday. Over last year we are doing about 800% more in sales. I cant wait for the holidays to be over so I can get caught up and replace my stock.

I had someone ask me for a candle that has about three wicks and I guess they use to use it in churches and it has numerals on the side to count down the day. Has anyone heard of this?
-
You can use these colors, but not if you will be selling. They are not FDA approved for B&B
Im sorry but I think you are incorrect. If you are able to eat it it should have FDA approval for the ingredients. Here is a link to the place that sells the colors

Also, if you use SAO you may want to put a "nut allergy" warning on it as well.

I read somewhere before that you could use the Wiltons (I think cake frosting colors in bath bombs) I think I have the name right.

Walmart has a four pack of the Libbey wine glass for 4.00 and they are thick and work well.

I have always used the burgundy liquid color for Spiced Cranberry
-
MizBizz, I know, that is why I said shortly. Thanks though

The jar store has these but they are not as thick as illuminations but work well. I wil probably have a few cases of the 16oz and 12oz for sale shortly if you are interested
Also the largest these come in is 15oz. That is also the largest Illuminations carries. The smallest is the 5oz

We have been so busy trying to fill our orders and stock the store. Once we think we are getting caught up we get another order that puts us backI work a regular full time job come home and start making candles and b&b and work until about 1am every night. I cant wait for the holidays to be over. My biggest competitor went out of business and now we are starting to get their business which we thought would be gradual and they bombarded us.

Thank you all for your help. I appreciate it.

Well at Immuminations they tell yo uthat the wax is food grade paraffin. And Yankee owns Illuminations. I wonder if that is what they mean.

I need to find a place on the West Coast that has the Reg/Green shred besides Papermart. They are out of stock until next week. And Uline does not have the mix. Can anyone help? Thanks

Yes, at the last two shows I did there was a chandler there that was selling B&B products that had the scent and no other information! No ingrediants, no contact info or anything. There wasn't even an amout of the conent of the bottle on the label. Just the scent and the price. She was also maketing a soy lotion candle as well but she wasn't warming or lighting those.
I didn't ask her any questions because she knew who I was! I was selling candles like crazy and all so could do was sit back and watch! She did come over and ask why I didn't have soy lotion candles. I explained that they were DANGEROUS and a law suit waiting to happen! She quickly left my tables and didn't return! :laugh2:

No offense, but have you ever heard of anyone getting hurt from these. If they are done and labeled correctly then you should have a problem. Of the several hundreds I have sold I have never once heard of anyone getting hurt. So when you say dangerous are you saying thatin general as a regular candle can be dangerous as well. It just makes me wonder all these people bashing this probably have never once tried it

There is a younf lady that I know that teaches classes in Point Richmond. Really nice area, so dont confuse it with Richmond, Very different. Her name is Lori and the place is called The Nova Studio. her web site is www.thenovastudio.com She isnt teaching the hydrosols but she teaches quite a few of the classes. If you want to learn basics as a starting point she is great. That is where I learned a few things and then went back and expanded on what I learned. I probably have taken 6 or 7 classes from her and am looking to take a few more on the bath and body section. If you go tell her I sent you.

I have the opportunity to take a class that will teach me to make hydrosols. Do ou think this would be beneficial? Does anyone make and sell hydrosols? do they sell well?

Aria007, you are exactly right. The one she mentioned was the church one that had three wicks and counted down.
