  1. I see that you have bar codes on your labels. If you are going wholesale your candles I believe you need to apply for the bar codes and not make your own. If you are just doing them for yourself, like we do in our store then you dont have to worry.

  2. UPDATE! I still have not received my invoice from them and Dawn had told me they had finished all orderes from Thursday. If this was the case I would have my invoice to pay. So it is still there either complete and open waiting for me to pay or ready to ship. What if I decided not to pay, Im sure the box is still open to put the items back if they dont get a invoice from paypal that I paid. So pretty much she lied to me!

  3. a 1oz bottle of cologne. I just finished testing and my distributor needs a price. My competition charges 12.50 retail. Is that to high. I think I need to charge less to under cut them. I know it sounds bad but we have under cut seberal of their products and now our distributor orders directly from us now. I dont feel bad since they are a larger company and they are not able to keep up with orders.

  4. I placed an order with them yesterday and selected paypal for payment. I havent received my confirmation yet so I called to see if I could add one item on and Dawn told me no. So I went somewhere else and ordered it and now placed a larger order with another company. I didnt know that BCN would not want my money.

  5. This is further from the truth than I can imagine. There is absolutly no water in lotion candles. Just because you see the word lotion does not mean there is water in it.

Question, and please don't take offense...must ask. It's always been my impression that "lotion" defined is an oil in water/water in oil emulsion. If that is in fact the definition, then these creations are not really lotion candles. They are body butter or balm candles? I see them called that all the time and I wondered why they used the term lotion. Same thing with lotion bars or sticks, if it does not have a water element to me, it really is not a lotion.
  6. Sorry you are having such problems. I make these and have never had that problem. I cant keep them sticked in my store. The miunute I put them out it seems like I have to make more and replace them. Hopefully you will figure it out.

This is primarily to get rid of my frustration.

I've posted before that I am supposed to make lotion candles for a cosmetic company (again: not my idea, but the customer is king).

Meanwhile, I have tested all kinds of wax-butter-oil combinations with all kinds of wicks (even cellulose wicks) with always the same result: the molten wax has an ashy smell when put on the skin. The candle itself burns perfectly, but the smell....it disappears, however, after one minute and you smell only the scent it should have, but this first impression is bad.

I really don't know how so many people in the US can sell these candles and none of them having this problem!

    I think I'm giving up.

    Thanks for listening!

  7. Its been going good but not great with the economy the way it is. Our wholesale and distributor help out quite a bit when thing are slow in sales at the store. Several business in the area have closed and the one that was our competitor that had a large selection of candles closed two months ago.

It doesnt help that I was promoted to Director here at my job which is more hours and I still make everything in the store. So my work schedule is from about 8am to 12pm alomst everyday. Cant wait for my vacation in two weeks.

  8. I agree about not using oven for just that reason.I read some do it but I wondered about the smell.I am sensitive to strong odors and wasn't about to take a chance with that and for sure not where I want to cook/bake. For my soap I have a old microwave and use that. Not the one I cook things.Soap is clean but I want no tastes of anything but food.

The smell isnt really that bad, just open the window. I do it all the time and never was an issue.
