  1. at first everything is fun and intriguing (no spell check here). But after awhile when you have something down pat, it's not finding the time to do it on a continual basis, that makes everything a grunge. If I could just dedicate more hours in a normal day, I would find the whole process more enjoyable once again. When you don't have the time to really try new things, it becomes more of a project than anything else.

  2. I do that all the time. Wait and wait for supplies to come, and then I just sit there and stare at them for a while. I've had so many disappointments on wicking etc in the past, I just have to get a grip before I try something new. Also, even though I have a designated room for doing all the mixing and such, I feel like I should be doing something else, or am afraid of the mess I'll make.

    I need therapy...

  3. I pay my sales reps (not in the candle business part of things) 15% of a discount rate I offer my customers. If the reps only sell one unit and the customer is paying a bigger amount, the rep still gets the commission of the lower rate. This encourages them to sell more to the customer to get more in commission. I hope this makes sense.

  4. I just did 70 favors for my daughter's bridal shower in the 4 oz. hex jars with a personalized label - their picture and the wedding date.

They turned out pretty nice. they are substantially bigger than the 2 oz. tins.

  5. THere is one thing that I have learned dealing with over 300 people a month in my primary business...if someone is a real creep to you, they usually are to everyone they deal with. I would contact your local newspaper or a small paper in the area and see if they can do a special interest story on your product, or invest in a nice advertisement. It would be iffy if you could mention that your candles were formerly stocked in the carpet store where they were, that would be up to the paper doing the article. Your primary goal is to get back your former customers along with of course new ones. Do flyers, try a website. Don't let the creep destroy you. What goes around, comes around,

    I guarantee that.

  6. Well that is something I will look into for sure, thanks! I have used the 6006 too, I mix it with some other things for my smaller jars.

It is a good wax too, I just found it sooted for me a bit more than I liked. But, it makes a nice candle!

  7. There's nothing nicer than a flickering candle in a suitable vintage container (THAT'S NOT DIRTY - AS I'M SURE COMFORTSCENTS WOULDN'T USE). Just underwick for safety reasons. And mark on the container, this vase has not been approved for candle use, or something to that effect to alert the customer they are burning at their own risk.

  8. Hmmmm....I ordered it over the phone not the website and as we were hanging up, I remembered I wanted to try some. Instead of researching it there, I looked thru everything here. It just looks to me after burning like more pariffin than soy. I'm a little nuts here right now, so maybe that's just the problem.

    Thanks

  9. I've been reading past posts until I'm now cross-eyed. I just want to make sure that... TN 70/30 is 70% pariffin and 30% soy. I bought a slab of it to try, thinking it was the opposite and noticed it appeared to be much more pariffin-like that soy. AM I CORRECT? It's good for the small 4 oz. hex's though, want my bigger candles to be more soy....back to my own blend
