  1. I'm not sure how your state works, but in Maryland, I am just wholesaling the product to them, and they collect sales tax. It's counted as a sale on my part. There isn't a 1099, as they don't work for me. If they aren't non profit, then they should just get a temporary sales tax ID from the state for the purpose of doing the fundraiser, and collecting and turning in sales taxes to the state.

  2. I have 2 upland 12 bar molds that I don't use, because the cut lines aren't even. I have a 12/24 bar wooden tog mold that is too hard to get the soap out of, so I don't use it either. But, I love my silvermoon molds. They are the best, and only molds that I use. The silicone liner works great. I have the heavy plastic box, which will clean up real easy.

  3. I have both upland and silvermoon, and honestly I like the silvermoon much better. I love the thick plastic mold that just slides together and is completely washable, and the liner is thicker than my upland. I especially like that they don't charge an arm and a leg for custom sizes. The quality, and customer service is great!

  4. Yep, I'm gonna have to raise mine too. The price of gas does effect costs. There may be a large supply of it, but it doesn't do us any good if it is priced so high that it increases the cost of shipping, which in turn effects the cost of the product. It effects every business in this way, causing a trickle down problem.

  5. I use IPayment, and they are doing the same thing. I am getting so fed up with all this nickle and diming us to death. I am considering that this may be my last year in business, with the price of everything else going up, it's just frustrating. I've been running this business for ten years, and although I love making the product, the business side of it is becoming a pain.

  6. Well, I just got my silver moon molds in and I just have to say they are awesome!! The quality is amazing. I got the plastic boxes instead of wooden. They are easily washed. The liner is thick and so are the walls of the box, which is collapsible. I will definately buy more from her. Sandra was great to work with too. She kept in touch almost daily and my molds shipped in about a week and a half. She can make any size you want, and will give you a quote in a day's time. So, be sure to check her site out.

  7. If you want to take a recipe out, just highlight it and then to the right click on delete. A screen will pop up and ask you if you are sure. Just click yes. To add, just click on add. It will ask soap of nonsoap, and then just follow the prompts.

  8. In my state they still have to collect sales tax on the items that they sell. They just don't pay taxes on items that they purchase for themselves. But since they are selling a product, they still have to collect state sales tax, and turn it in to the comptroller, because it was sold in that state.

  9. Well, I like my candles to leave no wax on the sides of the jar when burning. However, this won't happen if not burned properly. Ideally, a candle should burn, if wicked correctly, with a melt pool of about an inch per hour. So, a three inch round container should reach a full melt pool in three hours or so. If someone doesn't burn the candle long enough, it will have excess wax on the edge. I don't like smokey wicks either. Nobody wants soot from their candles. So, it does require a lot of testing to get the best wick, wax, fragrance and container combo. Of course, you must be aware that I am a perfectionist about the performance of my candles.
