  1. Okay. I have some questions too. I am IN LOVE with Glass Glow. I'm using all PEAK FO's and 8 oz apoc jars. PEAK's suggested using the 6" RRD wick, but they are tunneling. However, I'm just on the first burn. Do I wick by the wax, the FO or the jar?? ((I'm used to the old true blue GB444 and mason jars)) Help me please!!
  2. I meant, weigh-using a scale or measure-using a measuring cup.
  3. You know...I've noticed that. I am mainly using Peaks right now, but may venture to other vendors. (just not sure who yet). I have been measuring, but have noticed that it seems a bit to much for the wax. Thanks!!
  4. I searched, but couldn't find a thread. Should I weigh the FO or measure it? What, if any, is the differance? I use all Peaks FO's. Glass glow wax. 8 0z aproc. jars. Thanks in advance!!
  5. I just got my first bag of Glass Glow and can't wait to get home. ((I think I'm feeling sick:tiptoe: )) I have heard nothing but good about this wax. Hot and Cold throw has good reviews and from what I understand, you can't get a bad looking candle.
  6. Cathy, yes please send me some pictures. I think I will have a great demand for these. Thanks for your help. J
  7. I saw a picture in the gallery that I can't find now for the life of me. It was a forever votive, looked like glass glow, light brown/golden in color and in an open vase looking container. Please help me. I would like to know how to make them. A tutorial maybe?
  8. I've noticed that candle science costs less than Peaks. Is there a differance in the wax itself?? Thanks for your input
  9. Thank you all for your feedback I am now trying to talk my husband into making me a cubicle setting. lol:tiptoe: (He's going to make me pay big time!)
  10. I searched the site, and may have overlooked this question...How do you prefer to cool your jars after pouring? I've seen the suggested bubble wrap method. Box over the jars method. The wrapping in towels method. I want to make sure to get the crystal effect throughout the candle and didn't know which was the best or preferred method. Also, I am trying to talk my husband into making me a cookie rack/box themed cooler contraption. lol. I just to know what to have him include. BTW, he suggested buying hens to sit on them. He's a funny one, I'm so lucky :rolleyes2
  11. We just bought a 6 bedroom/4 bath house. I have a room that is being "renovated" for my work shop. Again... :yay: My question, I was asked if I want my computer armour w/printer in that room. It will be off to the corner and can be put bhind a wall, kind of like a cubicle setting. What do you think?? Do any of you have your computer/printer in your work area? Thanks for your input. J
  12. I would like to first say that I do not mean any harm in any way with the following comments, but... I just received my sample box from "The Jar Store". Which, mind you, I paid $20.00 for. With the economy, I can understand the charge. However, When I received the invoice, the name and address was wrong on the order. When I called to have corrected, the representative was...unkind and did not understand why I didn't want her to re-charge me and refund the original amount. ((It wasn't my error, I didn't see the need to be out of pocket $40.00 for their error)) I received my order and not only was every jar cracked, they aren't the jars or sizes I ordered. Also, the original order was for jars/pots that are no longer available. My thought about that is, why still have it as "available" on the website if they are in fact, "not available". I emailed the company and was asked to return the items to receive a refund. Shipping is over $6.00 for USPS, so I think I will just take the loss. Curious though, have any of you had a similar or better experience? Would it be worth the trouble to test the waters again? :tiptoe:
  13. I can't seem to find a reasonable wholesaler. Do any of you use these jars? Thank you.
  14. Here's a picture. I was wanting to know if anyone had trouble wicking, etc with this jar. Just general thoughts. J

  16. I have searched teh threads, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. (however, I'm a bit inpatient) Ok...What is your opinion of this jar. 9 oz. for soy/palm wax. I will not get them from the jar store, as there customer service didn't sit will with me. Anyways, your opinions please? Also, double wick you think?
  17. I just ordered a slew of wick centering tools. The white plastic "x" looking ones. I hope they help, because I can't "eye" the center of the candle if I cross my fingers and toes to save my life!!
