  1. Ok Thanks....I have a whole case in my basement of this stuff and was wondering how you made out.
  2. Hi Just curious to see how you made out with this?
  3. Thanks...I really appreciate the info! I think its safer not to have any alcohol ...forget the glossy candle lets go for safety...lol
  4. Ok....I am still trying to find info on it but I read that the alcohol in it needs to be attached to fatty acid....like stearic to stop it from catching fire...supposedly the alcohol will burn up before the fragrance oil and the fragrance will have a stronger throw.......LOL I think I am in over my head and I don't want to burn my house down.......ANYONE use this in their candles before?
  5. I was looking for a shiny LMP Parrafin.....I read another post that Cetyl Alcohol makes a parrafin shiny....I looked it up and it doesnt say anything about it as a candle additive or how much one would use.
  6. Is there anything you can add to a mottle wax for jar candles that would keep the mottle but make it glossy/shiny? From reading old posts it looks like Poly C15 makes wax shiny but kills the mottle. Any ideas? TIA
  7. Ok this is nuts....I have 3" status jars......wax is 2281....3 different candles at 6%, 8% and 9% FO load. I heated to 185 turned the heat off.....added dye and FO stirred very well and poured at 175 I have tried eco, cds, paper, lx wicks....SCENT THROW IS AWFUL.....almost nothing. What happened???LOL Sorry....Fragrance is Blue Spruce from CS.
  8. Hi Sorry to bug you but where did you get your labels? Do you have any problems with these coming unstuck from the jar? TIA
  9. Thanks Top.....I think that is the 125mp that Candles and Supplies sells in PA. Straight parrafin...shiny finish. I was looking to see if they had a lower melt point than the 125 and just as shiny. I just ordered a sample of the IGI2281 should be here this week....that has a lower mp. Whats a URL???
  10. Thanks...I was going to do that but I thought maybe some knew..LOL:)
  11. Hi Everyone....Does anyone know who sells Sasol wax? Is it available to us by the case or slab? All I keep finding is IGI. TIA
  12. Thanks Ravens ...i seem to try everything on the market...its fun playing with new wax! What kind of wicks are using with the JOY? Thanks
  13. Hi Kay, the candle may loose the strength of smell if you are continually melting it down to replace the wick. Here is what I do....make a candle NO wick....after it is completely cooled I use a skewer and poke a hole in the middle of the candle...than I slide the wick in and test burn. If its to big or too small I can just pull the wick out and replace with a new one. I know some on here will use one wick and burn to the bottom and if they dont like the burn they make another candle change wicks and burn that one to the bottom. HTH
  14. Hi Everyone, Does anyone use these waxes? I just started using NG FO and really like them so I thought I would give their waxes a whirl. Let me know what you think ...Thanks!
  15. I have never had any luck with 6006. I get no hot throw whatsoever or its very weak.....not sure why....some people rave about it and I cant get anything decent from it...my scents are from Peaks, Candlesicence and Natures Garden all at 7-8% per lb ...I ve tried cotton cored, htp's and CD wicks .....just cant get 6006 to work for me.
  16. PLEASE ...tell me which 5 they were so I dont buy them!
  17. Hey Everyone......been alittle while....I just got some samples in from Natures garden and I have to say WOW...I have for a few years used others Peaks, BCN , CMS, CS and JS. JS were very weak compared to most so I stopped using them. The others have some really good scents but the Oils I just recieved from NG seem so much better. They are strong and I know this sounds funny but they seem to be burning cleaner in the wax I use and throwing better. Anyone else notice this with their oils or am I going nuts? I use paraffin...no soy or veg. Thanks Natures Garden....I am very happy with your oils so far that I have tried:
  18. Thanks Top...reading the little bit I could find, it almost sounded like they would use this in place of stearic.....Thanks for your help as usual!
  19. Hi Everyone, Does anyone use this in thier candles? If so why...i heard its used but cant find much info on it. Thanks
  20. Hi Everyone...its been alittle while......I have a question......I am trying to use 4627 in a 3" Tumbler....its hard to wick obviously...a big wick smokes or tunnels and a smaller wick doesnt get the full meltpool. I added 20% C3 to see if I could keep the bigger wicl but slow the tunneling ..so far no luck. Does anyone have any idea on how to help this wax perform in the tumbler? Would adding straight parrafin help it? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!:smiley2:
  21. Can anyone help me here? I saw a few sites that have scented wax pellets. They are dyed different colors as well. They seem pretty cool! They give directions to mix your own scents...example: One scoop of Apple to one scoop of Pie Crust= Hot Apple Pie .... etc.... How do they make these small pellets? Also how would you color and scent them and than make them into pellets again? I guess you need a machine for this?? TIA
  22. Hey Top..............Did this wax you created ever hit the market?
