Hi everyone, Yup, another newbie here. I've been reading through a lot of posts and actually, I'm starting to think..."what have I gotten myself into???" WHEW! I know nothing about B&B products, but I'm trying to absorb everything in. I want to offer them, but have no idea where to begin. Ok, I know that sounds scary to by products from a novice, but we all have to start somewhere, right? Well, I purchased 2 bases (lip balm & lotion bar), but didn't realize how easy they are to make after reading the recipes. Well, hopefully they'll be for me. So when I'm out, I'll give it a try. Anyway, other than those 2, do anyone have any suggestions on the following? 1. What products are simple to make for beginners? I love the idea of sugar scrubs & body butters, so I'm hoping these are "easy"...right? I also love the idea of an emulsifying scrub, but wasn't sure if that's more of an "intermediate" item. 2. What ingredients & equipment would you recommend having on hand for starters or can't live without? What would be a spurlge? I have a scale that measures to 0.01g. 3. I read a few posts about having an item challenged tested. What is this & where does it happen? If & when I make someting, I don't plan to sell it immediately without freinds & family testing it first. Would this count? How long do you give an item to be "tested"? 4. Now I know there's a lot of debate about preservatives and have even read the post by Bunny, but in essence (and I know it depends on the item), is it best to have more than 1 preservative on hand? 5. What stores/sites are your favorites? There are so many acronyms for them that I have no clue which is which. BTW, is there a list that explains the acronyms? 6. Any advice for simply ANYTHING is very, very, very (did I say "very"? LOL) much appreciated! I'm sure I have more questions, but my mind isn't working too well right now...migraines for the 5th day in a row! Thanks so, so, so much in advance!!!
