  1. Thanks so much everyone!!! I think I'll do the .75oz ones for the lotion bars & the .5oz ones for mega lip balms (still have the .15oz, too).
  2. Great idea! Thanks!! I love eye & neck pillows, but I just don't want them to fall into the "drug" category w/FDA. Too messy. Also, how about stating that they come in "the following scents" and not say anything about what the EOs do? You know, I've also read some descriptions that also state a disclaimer like "I'm not a doc & don't make medicinal claims. Ask your doc for more info." LOL!! Ok, not like that, but you get the idea. What do you (or anyone) think?
  3. Ok, this is a ditz question, but how do you sterilize jars (double wall, etc.) & lids? I mean, do you just put them in boiling water for so long? If so, how long? Wasn't sure if that will mess up their shapes/sizes.
  4. Does anyone make lip scrubs? Can a simple body sugar scrub be used (ingredients)? Are they even in demand? This is another product I've thought about doing, but wasn't sure on 2 things - 1) recipe and 2) if they even sell. I know selling anything depends on the region, but I was just wondering "in general." TIA
  5. Hmmm...ok, maybe like a deodorant tube? Ok, how about 2 sizes? the bigger 2oz from elements & the .75oz for purse/bag use?
  6. I wasn't sure where to post this, so if this has to be moved, please let me know. Ok, I know eye pillows aren't exactly a B&B product, but do they fall under the same labeling as a cosmetic or drug if they contain aromatherapy ingredients? For ex: headache or sinus relief. OR are they on their own and don't need to be labled? I make my own eye pillows and fill them w/flaxseeds, lavender, & EOs. I sometime add different botanticals. BTW, I'm also making neck wraps that can be heated or cooled, so this wouldn't fall under this as well, would it? TIA!
  7. LOL @ rocket launchers. Ok, no to the 1oz push-ups. Are there any other kind of 1oz tubes?
  8. I've been debating over which size tube to get and need advice/opinions from anyone. I've thought about the .75oz propel tubes cause they're small & can be tossed into a bag. I'm also torn on the 1oz push up tubes cause it's a little bigger, but not too fond of it being a push up cause the entire lotion can be pushed out...I know from experience. LOL! Then, I've also thought about the .5oz tubes, but thought they might be too small for a lotion bar. I know Elements has the 2oz size, but that's too big for a "to-go" size. Maybe more of a "at-home" size. Any thoughts on any of this? What size sells good for you? TIA
  9. LOL! Oh, I know who the Amish are. I just thought you were referring to a store/site. Oh believe me...I want to get EVERYTHING!
  10. LOL! Yeah, hubby would flip out too if I spent $3K. What is the amish? What butters & oils would you recommend having on hand at all times? I'm sure shea & cocoa butter as well as sweet almond & jojoba oils. I love avocado, so I always have that one.
  11. Thanks, I'll check them out. So "body safe" can be used on the lips?
  12. I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, please let me know. How do you test the flavors in lip balms? I know you can add more, but wasn't sure the correct way to try out the flavors. Thanks.
  13. I know coconut can vary from supplier to supplier, but has anyone fond a true coconut flavor oil that is just that? I've purchased several coconut lip balms from several places and haven't found one that tasted good. Thanks.
  14. Thanks! I was thinking of the following, but hope I haven't bit off more than I can chew. LOL! scrubs (sugar, coffee, emulsified) creams (incl. whipped - anything thick & nourishing) MAYBE lotions - this may be the last one I wan to tackle cause of the water issue and after reading several posts & warnings. body powders lip balms lotion bars dry body oils - sprayI'm hoping these are simple enough to start. I know they can probably get a little more complex w/the ingredients involved & the desired outcome.
  15. Thanks everyone! I'll get those asap. Aprrox. how much do you use? Is vanilla considered an EO? Doesn't it turn things to tan or brown? BTW, are EO lip balms as popular as FO ones?
  16. Hi. After reading the post for good & bad flavor oils, I'm now wondering if I should even mess w/them. Maybe later when the $$ tree is blooming. So, having said that, which EOs are safe to use on the lips? Any warnings? TIA:grin2:
  17. Hi everyone, Yup, another newbie here. I've been reading through a lot of posts and actually, I'm starting to think..."what have I gotten myself into???" WHEW! I know nothing about B&B products, but I'm trying to absorb everything in. I want to offer them, but have no idea where to begin. Ok, I know that sounds scary to by products from a novice, but we all have to start somewhere, right? Well, I purchased 2 bases (lip balm & lotion bar), but didn't realize how easy they are to make after reading the recipes. Well, hopefully they'll be for me. So when I'm out, I'll give it a try. Anyway, other than those 2, do anyone have any suggestions on the following? 1. What products are simple to make for beginners? I love the idea of sugar scrubs & body butters, so I'm hoping these are "easy"...right? I also love the idea of an emulsifying scrub, but wasn't sure if that's more of an "intermediate" item. 2. What ingredients & equipment would you recommend having on hand for starters or can't live without? What would be a spurlge? I have a scale that measures to 0.01g. 3. I read a few posts about having an item challenged tested. What is this & where does it happen? If & when I make someting, I don't plan to sell it immediately without freinds & family testing it first. Would this count? How long do you give an item to be "tested"? 4. Now I know there's a lot of debate about preservatives and have even read the post by Bunny, but in essence (and I know it depends on the item), is it best to have more than 1 preservative on hand? 5. What stores/sites are your favorites? There are so many acronyms for them that I have no clue which is which. BTW, is there a list that explains the acronyms? 6. Any advice for simply ANYTHING is very, very, very (did I say "very"? LOL) much appreciated! I'm sure I have more questions, but my mind isn't working too well right now...migraines for the 5th day in a row! Thanks so, so, so much in advance!!!
  18. Where do you get fish oil & can lanolin be subbed?
  19. Hi. I'm new to all of this and want to try this out for my daughter cause she suffers big time, but she's allergic to wheat & soy. Can anything be used instead of these two? Thanks
