Thanks Karen! I love Sugared Vanilla Shortbread and their Butterscotch pudding. It sounds like I need to try Toffee Cinnamon Apple. I remember their Caramel Apple being good, too. Oh and thanks for the info on WPP, I don't like nutty notes, either
-
Oh man! I thought you guys were using it alone Thanks for the heads up!!!
eta: a dimple in the middle doesn't bother me, just very lumpy tops.
-
:-)Thanks Belinda! But, I'll placing an order soon. I'll just throw a sample in my cart. I'm probably going to be ordering some CBL129 to try for my melts.

Any reviews on:

Coconut!!
And something like Mr Missy's cedar patchouli.
Aroma Haven has a cedarwood and patch. Oob it is a good combo of both scents. You may want to check it out.

Save On Scents has a dupe. But, I've never tried.

That's very interesting. If anyone decides to try it, please post your results.

Just bumping this. I remembered someone had posted the new names, but I had to really search for it.
-
I agree with Aqua Di Gio. It's very manly.
-
I like flexible molds... Most waxes will do fine in them, but not necessarily really soft container waxes. They can be messy or even get stuck.

I've been testing Lavender and Vanilla (TCS) and Baked Apple (AH) today. The Lavender and Vanilla has been very good, the perfect strength, imo. The Baked Apple was almost too strong for the first couple hours and I never use those words (it could be this bout with nausea, though). It has toned down to a very enjoyable level. I'm looking forward to testing more.
If this wax works out, I'm going to have to figure out how to get them pretty. I'm not digging the bumpy tops, lol.

I personally do not worry if it sticks to the bowl. If you increase the melt point, it may not melt well in some burners causing a loss in ht.
eta: I like my melt point to be from 128-130.

I agree with these guys. When I would scoop it out to make candles, it would get stuck all over my hands. I would have to continuously wipe my hands with a paper towel. It's really a nasty feeling, especially if you're a clean freak like me, lol.
-
Well, if they have the bumpy look on top, that's not "my beloved", lol
Dave, you made a very good point, and I want to thank you; you saved me a lot of aggravation and disappointment, I am sure :smiley2:
Well then I'm glad I described them. It will save you a lot of heartache, lol. I'm trying to find a stand alone wax that will surpass my "beloved" blend of 4794/415. Hmmmm, I've never tried CBL-129. I may have to order some if this turns out to be a flop, lol. But, I'm still hopeful. :-)

I believe I've opened up a can of worms haha. I'm sure all the testing I've done over the years has forced me to lower my expectations and my opinion is not to be trusted. Lol.
These melts are beautiful in color, but kind of ugly in texture. They are all very rippled on top.
The pumpkin and vanilla still smells good at 10 hours, but it is lighter now for sure.
I'll keep y'all posted on my testing.

Hey, hey! For your information, I am doing all this for the sake of science.... candle science, that is :laugh2:
Dave, seriously now, TCS wax (for me) was a great, GREAT wax, and I miss it. I've come close to achieving its throw when experimenting with other blends, but none are quite like it
Waiting on Leah before heading to TCS website, lol[/QUO
Oh geez!!!.I don't want this on my shoulders! I've only poured 7. I'm testing 2. The pumpkin and vanilla has been going about 6 hours.. I will update. So put the credit card away for now, lol!
-
Oh Ravens, please don't get your hopes up because of my review. Maybe I'm just used to inferior blends, lol.
To answer your questions, though, the wax was an odd combo of pellets, shreds and large globs. I ordered the tart/votive wax.
Here recently, I've been using a mix of ecosoya pb and j50. I have not been satisfied with the throw or longevity. Hoping this wax works out. I'm tired of having to mix waxes and would love to just have one wax for my melts.
-
Ok guys, this stuff rocks!!!.... so far. I've been making melts and I just threw pumpkin and vanilla in my burner. With absolutely no cure time this melt is throwing like Nolan Ryan. The cold throw is exceeding all my other wax blends. If this is the lesser version of this wax, I imagine the original was fabulous... I will continue to test. I'm hoping this works out.

Well, I ordered some yesterday. I put it in my shopping cart and I was going to double check for reviews on here.. But, that was when the board was down. So I decided to bite the bullet and order anyhow. I remembered all the great reviews...... And the one time I'm not uber cautious when placing an order and this it what happens lol. I sure hope it's not a waste.

Tyler Candle's Kathina- haven't smelled anything close to this scent. It's pretty, feminine, and it haunts me!! lol

If you think of it, please share. I'm always looking to try new fos and especially the ones I can sample for cheap. :-)
