  1. If you can find a restuarant supply company in your area or go on line... Cambro makes a microwaveable 4 cup/32 oz pitcher that you can use in the microwave to melt container wax. We use them all the time to remelt wax for topping/repour. They are expensive at $7-$8 each but woth it as they do not crack as some others do.
  2. Make sure you understand the difference between oz by weight and liquid ounces. One oz by weight of fragrance oil is typically 0.8 liquid oz. Similiarly 16 oz by weight of melted wax is about 19 liquid oz. One oz by weight of f.o. added to 16 oz by weight of melted wax yields exactly a 6% f.o. content: Here's the calculation: 1/(16+1) = 0.06 Now if you put 1 liquid oz of f.o. in 16 liquid oz of melted wax....you will have a fragrance content of 9%!! Sounds incorrect but do the math!
  3. I'm in the minority but there is not reason that you cannot add fragrance oil to a wickless candle to refresh it. You may not want to do it for business reasons and that I understand but you can definitely refresh the candle 1 or 2 times without worry. Try it!
  4. You can purchase coated wicks from wick suppliers where the coating is a high melt wax...higher than the melt point of your candle and this is supposed to help minimize the curl....the source of which is the diameter of the coil the wick is wound on when first manufactured.
  5. Still looking for crystal palm wax? If you are not happy with your source, I have roughly 500 lbs that I could sell you very inexpensively. Let me know if you want a sample.
  6. The key is to find a procedure that works for you in terms of jar size, fragrance loading, room size, burning time and stick to that procedure. From a technical point of view, the perceived fragrance in a space is strongly affected by ventilation or air changes and most importantly the diameter of the wax pool as fragrance evaporates from the wax pool. A 3" wax pool puts out more than twice the fragrance of a 2" wax pool.
  7. IGI won't tell you but I beleve the 6006 blend is approximately 30% soy. In anything other than shallow containers, it's definitely a 2 pour wax.
  8. I disagree with the previous post. You absolutely can add fragrance oil to re scent a wickless candle. You should be able to add 1-2 tsp of FO to 8 oz of wickless candle at least 2 or 3 times before you begin to see oil separation.
  9. Here's my number one suggestion......do not try to sell jar candles off of glass shelves. Display your jar candles on wooden display units. Keep your fragrances/candles together. Do not spread them around. It makes it difficult for the consumer to find what they like.
  10. Thanks for the info. We have bought them at Hobby Lobby 3 for $10.00 in the past and sold more than 50 of them out of our retail store.
  11. I hope you used a credit card. You can dispute any charges that are incorrect. Look on the back of your last statement to find the form to use. Usually it's a simple matter and the credit card company will do the wprk for you. Good luck.
