  1. As already stated, you can use it right away, but it gets so much nicer after a long cure!! I make CPHP or OHP castile (100% castile) for DH. In his words, "it's better after it sits around for a while". He's so technical :rolleyes2
  2. I've used other herbs in soap for their properties. I'd infuse them on oil and use that oil at trace and also add powder after trace (if CP) or after the cook (if HP). Just make sure the leaves are powdered. They can be scratchy.
  3. CareBear - I made that mistake long ago with LorAnn flavors. You shoulda heard the words coming out of my kitchen.
  4. Oh my goodness! Thanks for posting this. I've gotten lollipop molds for them but never thought of using their flavor oils for lip balm. (duh) Please let us know the results!!
  5. That is wonderful!! I love your fabric and the pattern is so much fun!! I can see how you'd want to make a TON of them.
  6. Wow! Nice mold and beautiful swirls!
  7. Folgers cans. I put them through the dishwasher and let them dry in the sun. Then, add salt, add color, add fragrance, and shake it up. When I'm getting ready for a show, I "hire" my 5 year old to shake them. Then shake them a couple times a day for 2-3 days or until the FO sinks in.
  8. I like working in grams. For years, I did the same thing where I'd have my cheat sheets and notes for conversion until I realized that one of our calculators has an oz to gm button. Our local drug store has them for around $6
  9. I use the big round plastic Christmas ornaments. I read a trick once about rubbing silicone or corn starch in the halves. Back when I started, yes I had some stick. I use a very different recipe now.
  10. I've used ProPay for over a year now. I've never had a problem. I get the customer's zip code instead of their full address. I've used it for craft fairs and for Etsy orders. I don't know if it integrates with a traditional website. If you have questions, call Mike Burgoyne 801-852-4005. He also has an Etsy rate. You get the premium for the basic price. He's very helpful.
  11. All I can picture is when a friend of mine laminated her first ultrasound...It was a hot laminate and the paper was heat sensitive. It turned black. I imagine these would shrink in the printer and gum it up.
  12. Hi there. I just ordered a light box set (because my ghetto light box is just not working out) for $50.54. That includes shipping (CA to NY), 2 lights, a fold up light box, 2 backgrounds, and a camera stand. http://www.handhelditems.com/studio-mini-digital-studio-lighting-p-12162.html Coupon Code at checkout = ministudio for $10 off.
  13. Jbren - You just gave me a "Duh" moment! I use homemade laundry soap (for us) and add borax to the washer...I seriously never thought to add it to the soap. Thank you.
  14. It kind of highlights that they use the diagnosis "eczema" for a wide variety of skin issues. In my mind, if it's an allergy, it's not eczema, it's an allergic reaction (No, I'm not a doctor and would never try to be!). Scary stuff.
  15. I haven't had luck scenting with infused oils and herbs. But I also can't stand scratchiness in soap.
  16. Poor thing! Maybe next time, she'll listen (yeah right if she's like mine!). Coconut (or monoi) and shea make a nice treatment. It's a little rough to get out (but my hair is fine) so it works best as an overnight leave in.
  17. A friend's son has terrible milk allergies. He can't use any milk soaps. I'd be wary of not labelling peanuts because of similar strong allergies.
