I have not tried those yet but that Balsam and Clove looks interesting to me. Also the White Mulberry and Cedar.

I would go back to the cheaper ones but that is just MHO. Sometimes I don't think the customer really cares about the fancy lid as much as how great the candle smells.

Once a palm oil forest is cut it is then burned to the ground which releases tons of carbon into the air that we breath.
1Can you explain this more for me? I thought palm wax came from the fruit of the trees. Why are the trees cut and burned?

I'm so sad that I never got around to ordering Tahitian Village. It's one of my favorite scents for personal use. It smells familiar but I have no idea what it could be similar to.
I found CS's Coriander and Tonka to be very close and seemed a little stronger to me. You might want to give that a try.

I tried Celtic Moonspice in wax one time and it did not seem as strong as Peak's Amish Harvest. But boy did it smell the same.

I am not sure if this considered food but Hot Maple Toddy is good. Butter Rum Allspice, WYW Cinnamon Stick, WYW Perfect Pumpkin, Cookies for Santa, WYW Ginger Maple, Sissie's Sugar Cookies, Vanilla Bean Supreme, Whipped Cream. I have tried these and they are good and strong. But some of them did not sell very good.

Oh! Got it! Makes sense to me now. Thank you for clarifying.

Thanks Moonstar!
If you are using the base why would you consider it water based spray? Ugh!
I have the Aroma Haven base and have been testing it and I think it works great but I have only compared it to cyclo which was not any better than the base and costs more.
I will wait to see if TT can straighten my brain out!

Want me to send you an ounce of the one from aroma Haven? I have had very good luck with it in water based sprays. I do add perfumers alcohol also to mine so it stays suspended in the air longer.
Okay now I am confused or maybe it is close to bedtime. ...."the one from Aroma Haven"... do you mean the base? If so, what do you mean by "good luck with it in water based sprays"?

I will have check that out. I don't order from there and I need another supplier like I need a hole in the head but you gotta do what you gotta do! Thank you for the heads up on Brambleberry!

kandlekrazy, that is what I was wondering too. Will we still be able to have this forum?

I am sorry to hear about this and hope everything goes okay with him. But it would be nice to know what he is doing with the inventory he has. Tall Grass and Amish Harvest are going to be hard to replace for me.

Not sure because I have never made one in my life! The base I bought from RE says it holds up to 9%. So 2% seems low to me but if that is the starting point for most that make them maybe I will start with that.

Thank you!

I am going to try this out but I am not sure how to measure the FO. For my wax I use 6% by weight. For room sprays do you use weight or volume?

Oh sheesh! Thank you. I was trying all kinds of things but I never thought of that one!

I have also noticed that the melts are more popular than candles. I sell a ton of melts to 2 to 3 candles.
Sorry, what is KWIM?

Where I hold shop in the summer many would not even ask, just wanting a good candle. but in Wisconsin enough people still believe soy to be the one and only :-/
2I sell in Wisconsin too. Some of the people up in my neck of the woods are coming around to the idea of palm wax. But I still get a few that I have to explain it to.

Well it appears peak doesn't have palm anymore....hasn't there been complaints they have been out of stock on many things? But it's simply just not listed anymore and I swear I saw it not even a week ago
They stopped carrying it a while back. I tried getting some from them a while back when BCN was out of stock. Luckily they got it back in stock pretty quick.

. I wish I could sell like that!

I never could fall even in 'like' with soy. I even tried the parasoy blends, and tried blending soy in with my paraffin myself, and still just did not like it. I think it may be because I'm lazy, or like the easy way out - IDK but I've never really had to fight with my wax, and I *LOVE* it. So I will keep it just the way it is, until they stop making it (which I feel will be soon since IGI has bought them out and only a handful of suppliers still carry it)
May I ask what wax you use?
UV Stabilizer
in Gel Candle Making
Posted
I bought some gel wax to play around with. I found and tested a couple FO's for non-polarity and ready to make a couple candles. I have done a search but nothing came up on this. Do we need to add UV stabilizer to gel?
