I think that is the reason why I didn't run with it when I tried it out. I would have to constantly explain how it works and if it was better. Well, that and there would probably be some left in the container that I would have to cut open to get it all out. So I stuck with the regular melts.

Late response I know, but that article was written by "Flicker" Would that be the same Flicker that is on these forums? If so, id like to know if he/she still makes these. I had a few questions maybe
Yes, it is the same Flicker. I am not sure if she does still make those. You would have to PM her or maybe she will pop in and see this post. I am not sure if she is still in the business of making candles, etc., but I do know she stops in here every once in a while to visit.

I almost made that mistake too. I came across Bahama Fizz a couple times while searching on here.

I have a request to make an air freshener like Yankme's Bahama Breeze. I found a dupe at the Candlemaker's store but I have read threads here that their dupes are way off.
Has anyone here ever tried this FO from them? I have not been able to find it anywhere else.
TIA

I got a sample of BA's Patchouli. I let it cure for a week in 4786 for my melts and it did not do so well. I will let it cure another week to see what happens.
I have not tested my palm wax candle with it yet. That one has cured for a week now but I will wait another week to see how it does.

RE has a good one but I think Aztecs is stronger. At least in my palm wax.
-
Woohoo! That is good news!

Thanks for posting. When I get the chance I will have to post my practice candles.

Birdcharm,
I tried an HTP104 as you suggested and it worked perfectly! Thank you!

Are the tottles the ones that stand on the cap? If so, I think that would look and work better because then the wax is always at the bottom.

That sounds about the right time frame. Boy, has it been that long ago already? It seems like just about a year ago when it was brought up. I never got around to trying it but I always wanted to.
BCN had a blog post about it with directions. http://bittercreekcandle.blogspot.com/2013/07/squeezable-scented-wax.html

Squeezable wax?? Did I miss the memo on this one?
You might have to do a search on here to find out what it is all about. I think there are a couple threads about it.

I think the HDPE bottles would be the best. I am not sure about the PET. HDPEs are more squeezable, aren't they?

That would be wonderful. Amish Harvest and Tall Grass were actually the only two I used from Peak. **fingers crossed**

I went there to check it out after reading this but it looks like some things have been deleted. So it looks like I will have to find a few replacements too. Luckily I have almost full pounds of the two I rely on from them. That should hold me over for a little bit.
Sorry.....I just went there and found his comment.

Since Peaks is now not opening, I really need to replace Red Clove. This clove was the best I have ever used. I use this for one of my best selling chunk melts and i am running low. (errrrrr)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as always.
I have been away for a few days! I thought they were going to reopen. Where did you read that it isn't?

Welcome to the club!

Thank you for the advice. I am going to play around with this stuff a little more. I think I am going to order some medium density too with some HTPs to see how that goes.
-
The density seems like medium but I do not really have anything to compare to because it is the first time I bought gel.
This is the description on Aztec's site. Maybe I should have started with regular medium density:
"CC was designed to have a low melt point of around 135-160 Degrees for pouring at lower temperatures of items such as wax embeds to prevent melting. Has the density of that of the Medium gel."
This is the link:
http://www.candlemaking.com/cc-overpour-penreco-gel-candle-wax.html
Why is it better to use unprimed?
-
I am using zinc wicks with Penecro gel from Aztec. It is called CC (Overpour) specially made for pouring over embeds.
But anyway.....I hate the mushrooms. They are huge. And then when you try to trim it the mushroom falls down and sticks to the gel. I am using a 60-44-18Z in a 3 inch 1/2 pint square mason. I have tried using a size smaller and it just seems too small.
I have read and read the posts on here. Some said to try the LX wicks.
Any suggestions?

Moonstar,
I ordered the base from RE instead because I already get some oils from them. I really like it although I have nothing to compare it to because this room spray stuff is a first for me. But I would recommend it.
Sorry for the confusion.

I found that out about the color. The green one got too dark.

Thank you for the response. I didn't use it today but I was also wondering about the clouding up with an additive. But I am planning on coloring them so that might not be an issue.

They didn't work too bad in my palm wax. They might even be better in other wax, like soy or a paraffin blend. I ordered more wicks but haven't had the time to do more testing with them. Maybe this winter when things quiet down again.
