  1. So if you want 1 oz tarts...then you would have to go with the 2 oz ones since you probably wouldn't be able to fill the 1 oz up enough??

I use the 1oz. oval cups and fill them just to the edge so the lid will still snap on. If you spill or fill too full it won't close. Not sure which ones you want to use or how you want to market them. I used to use the cups from Sams Club that were 2oz. and they held about 1.5oz wax. These 1oz cups hold about 0.9oz, but then again I'm using a different type of wax than I was before.

  2. You could also just go with wickless for now and give them a wickless candle and a little warmer as a gift set.

Nice suggestion! You could use this particular scent for wickless jars. If you're just giving to family as Christmas gifts you could just yank the wicks out and heat gun the tops. It'll save you a lot of headache until you get this scent wicked correctly. Good luck!

  3. I don't use that one but some vanilla's can be harder to blend and will have to be added at a higher temp. I'd try adding it around 190 and warming the oil as the previous poster suggested. The flash point won't matter but my general rule is not to add FO to wax over 200 degrees so you don't risk losing some of your scent. Hope that helps!

  4. I ordered on Thursday and received my order yesterday(monday) and everything smells great OOB. I ordered:

Mulled Cider ~ I smell some cranberry in there too

Pumpkin Cheesecake ~ great creamy pumpkin

    Northwoods Balsam~ great Xmas scent

Snow Flurry~ similar to Northwoods Balsam, will have to test in wax to see how they are different

Blackberry Croissant~ so glad I ordered this one!

Christmas Cranberries~ sweet and tart at the same time, will be good for Xmas

Apple Crisp~ smells like apple jack & peel OOB

Autumn Leaves~ smells like leaves with a little pine mixed in. I might detect some mint OOB?

So far very happy with my order from Mr. Missy's and can't wait to test these! I just wish more were B&B safe. I'd love to slather Blackberry Croissant all over in body butter! I have more I want to try but will wait until these are tested. I'll post again when I have more info.

  5. Like I posted in "another" Mr. Missy thread, if you registered for an account and log in the ZERO SHIPPING is there. Don't know if you have to register or not, but that works from my end.

His oils are good, some even great, some OOB I don't care for, but I have never had any problems receiving my FO's. He's even thrown extra FO in the box.

Yea, it's kinda goofy his emails and shipping stuff, but if you are having an issue with any of that, call him or email him...he loves to talk! LOL

I'm sure we on this board are not his only customers and with the pricing that he is offering, I'm also sure he's up to his eyeballs in orders....so maybe you just have to wait a bit. I do know one particular situation is that he ran out of bottles, crap happens.....

Like I posted on the "other" thread, I think you are the only one seeing this zero shipping option. I registered at least a month ago and when I log in and check out there is no zero shipping except for customer pick up.

Either way, I don't expect free shipping. He's got great prices and I get tired of the same old stuff anyhow. I need Xmas oils and he has what I want, period. I just placed an order for 9lbs and was happy with $10 shipping from Fla to IA.

  6. Thanks a lot Tootie, guess who's got some parasoy on the way. :laugh2:

I wanted that wax so bad and when you said to break it down by the oz. I did. It turns out there's a huge difference in wax price plus shipping from my mixture but when I broke it down it was only 2 cents difference per tart. Didn't take much to talk me into it.

Vickey sent me a tart with my last order and it was a scent that I already have so I know the strength in my own with that one. It was blow me out of the house strong, I actually had to turn it off because I was getting a headache. Now that's some good wax! Very smart of her to throw in an extra tart. Advertises her FO's and her tart wax. That little tart that costs next to nothing to make is going to get her many orders!

  7. If you're using it for tarts just to smooth out the tops you could use container soy for that if you have it on hand. KY Parasoy is 70% soy/ 30% paraffin so adding enough soy to make it 80/20 should do it. Personally I wouldn't do anything to Vickey's tart wax, it's fabulous. I'd be using it if I could get it shipped cheaper than $30+ a box! I know it dimples some but the scent throw is awesome. Have you tried different pour temps?

  8. I do really wonder what she's doing with all of these samples she's getting. She must be getting some from people who don't know better or she wouldn't continue to email asking for them. Is she really making gift baskets or keeping them for herself? Maybe she's reselling them. She doesn't even try to change her name, just uses her own each time. At least she could be better at scamming if she's going to do it :rolleyes2

I did have a customer once that resold my tarts without my permission at GARAGE SALES  claiming to be sort of an employee. Funny thing is she actually told me about it like she was doing me a favor.

Also, why do you need to ask for free samples to try out when tarts are so inexpensive! Ticks me off!

I like the idea of sending her a 1oz. tart and charging her $10 for shipping. Thanks for the idea, I'll tell her that if I ever hear from her again!

  9. Got another email from her last night asking for freebies:mad:. I had sent a nasty reply back to her a few months back and told her to quit contacting me. Here's the email from last night:

Hi there. My name is Christie Amato and I am a consumer that is making

a lot of gift baskets for family and work functions in 2009. I'd

like to put products in the baskets that I stand behind and that I have

sampled myself and think they are great! Is there any way that you would be

able to send me a small sample of what your best products are before I

decide to purchase anything? I am very interested in your candle products!

I'd be happy to pay for the shipping, if that

makes things any easier for you.

    Thanks so much-

    Christie Amato (Richboro, PA)

I replied again and told her she was well known in our biz and quit trying to get something for nothing because we all work very hard for our products.

    So she actually replied with:

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

    LOL!
