1. Sorry for the dumb question, but what's the purpose of having the soap gel? And thanks everyone!!! I plan on doing my second batch today. I am going to do Peach this time... that is of course, if I have the correct color mica.
2. Make sure you get some stink fish mica from Scented. LOL.
3. You should not be selling uncut/concentrated Fragrance Oil directly to customers. In it's uncure form, it is NOT meant to be used in potpourri burners or as a refresher oil. You should first cut the FO with DPG and THEN sell it. It's too dangerous in its concentrated form.
4. As far as I can remember, the site has been down quite awhile now.
5. *gives Scented a maid's outfit to go with that feather duster*
6. I will just add here instead of making a new thread... Thanks everyone! Here's the rest of the story: I think I WILL stick to 1 or 2 lbs at a time until I get used to making soap. I will just not use the big log mold I have, and use the small cavity mold instead. I do not want to waste more oil while I am learning. This stuff is expensive! LOL First photo is of (some of) my set up. Second photo is of the uncut log. I need lessons in how to make something flat. Problem is, it seized so darn fast I had to scoop it out and into the mold. Third photo is of the cut bars... if you can call them bars. The cut soap chunks. The color is pretty much what I was going after. I think solids are boring. Swirls and chaos are where it's at. At least the kitchen smelled good as I was cleaning up.
7. I've been playing with layers for quite awhile, but never in pillars, so here is my first attempt at layered pillars (I knew how I wanted to do them, but never had time to really PLAY... still don't, had to MAKE the time...) I'm not happy with them... air bubbles mostly. I will have to work on that for next time. (Then again, I'm a major perfectionist... it kills me to even share these photos!) oh... also did some votives with the leftover wax. I will not be doing THAT again. 8. I posted this in a different forum, but for those of you not over there: I did make my first batch of CP soap last night. It was fun, and I can see how it would be addicting. I took a few photos, and need to pull them off the camera. What to do next time that I did not do this time: * Try CP without the water reduction. I think that is why it seized so quickly. * Pick a better scent to use. I used Juniper, and from what I have been told by a few people, is not the best FO to use for CP. * Make more than 1 lb at a time. I only made 1 lb. I didn't know better. LOL So for now on, I think I will do min of 2 lbs, and most likely 3. I have some things to get through today, but if I can get all my tools run in the dishwasher, I will try another batch tonight. This time, with a better FO and 3 lbs of soap.
9. Ordering pens has been on my to-do list for awhile now. LOL I just have to get off my butt and actually DO IT.
10. Start with the A's??? Or put them all in a box and randomly pull one out and go with it!! Whatcha waiting for?
11. I ship about 95% of my FOs UPS because of the USPS rules. These rules are not new... they have been around for awhile. FP has to be over 145 to be safe for air, but it has to be marked a certain way... and FP over I think 170 or 175 still has to be mentioned as liquids, but do not need the special markings on the package. To save the headache, I just send everything UPS.
12. I'm not interested in dudes in bottles! Women on the other hand......
13. Tangerine, it depends on the scent you want to have duplicated. Please let me know in PM what you are looking for and I can let you know specifics. Usually however, I only require a minimum of 2 pounds.
14. Lynn, Thank you for the reviews! I am glad you liked the ones I recommended to you, and hope to hear what you think once they are in product... and J, I never sent you HC? Shame on me!
15. Hi. The cart gives prices that are preset and are basically what UPS charges ME to ship packages. About 8 times out of 10 the cart ends up underestimating and I end up paying the difference (happened twice today in fact). If the difference is grossly disportionate, I will refund the difference in shipping to the customer. Please keep in mind, too, that the first pound is most costly, and 2nd pound and higher is only a small increase in price. Hope that helps address your concerns.
16. I have also done a few others as well.
17. I would love to try and work on something for you, but I am stretched a little thin at the moment... if you do not find something you like in a week or so, I can try putting something together (maybe). Good luck!
18. That is nice looking glass... would make a good centerpiece.
19. You're very welcome! Have fun with them and keep us updated on what your results are in product.
20. 1 lb of melted wax will yeild about 20 fluid oz. in a prvex glass pour container. That is, weight to volume.
