  1. Thanks for the help. I haven't been cleaning my candles before applying the decal so will do that in future and hope that it helps. I read somewhere else about rubbing the decal down with methylated spirits after applying it and I've done that with some testers last night and it seems to be helping so I imagine that a combination of both has got to do the trick. Thanks again.

  2. I'm having trouble with waterslide decals (both lazer and inkjet) peeling off my pillar candles (both paraffin and palm wax) after they are dry. It might be a day later or even longer but they are just not staying stuck. Any suggestions on how to ensure that they become permanent fixtures will be gratefully accepted. TIA.

  3. They look lovely - gorgeous colours. Now, just a quick question: It appears to me that your everlastings aren't wrapped. If that's the case, are you not concerned about them getting dented? I know that mine get chips out of them at the drop of a hat. Just curious, as it would be a shame if they got damaged after all your hard work (and fun, I hope).

Whoops, another question coming. Your tea lights look like palm wax also. If so, what wick are you using as all of mine so far have been too weak?

  4. I have heard that adding too much vybar can lock up fo and wonder if stearine can do the same? I usually add stearine (to paraffin) at 10% but decided to try making tarts with 20% (just to see what happens) stearine and 9% fo and can't smell a thing. Any insights would be appreciared. TIA. Mozzie

  5. I fill the bottom w/ fine sand to create a level base. Your wick won't move & the sand also creates a barrier to keep the glass from getting really hot on the final burn.

    Susan.

Hey Susan, I really like that idea of yours. Do you colour the sand to match the wax or am I just being insane? Also wondering if you have any pics you could post. Thanks, Mozz

  6. with convex bottoms is proving a sore trial to me. I have tried wick stickums but as soon as the wax melts the wick tab slides off the high spot and too close to the side of the jar. What do others do to keep the wick tab centred? The jars I am using are tiny - only about 2" wide so as soon as the wick is off-centre it is dangerously close to the side of the jar. TIA.
