Welcome to the board!!

Did you all see Bert's new scents and descriptions in her store...?
Sea Glass, Tea Leaf and Grapefruit, Exotic Teak...these sound awesome! Can't wait esp. to try the Tea Leaf and Grapefruit!! Sounds like it would make an awesome SOAP!!!

I don't see why not!
What I was gonna say!!! lol!

I sold out of ALL of my candles with Bert's FO's yesterday. Jack Frost, Redwood & Cedar, Lemon Biscotti and Pumpkin Custard.
The only puzzling thing I found was that the PUmpkin Custard either discolored (orangey) around the edges (I don't color my candles) or has started rusting the tins. However, that did not deter anyone from buying them even when I pointed out the flaw.
That's great! I think that Pumpkin Custard is an orangey color, so that may be it, and the rust might be the vanilla content. I think that happens a lot with Pink Sugar too...(the rust, that is...)

I think they smell different, I think JS has a more buttery, sweet smell, and as I recall, MC's is more nutty...it's been awhile since I smelled MC's but I DO know I like JS's version better...and the throw just plain kicks butt...

It depends on the containers I use...I don't recall getting any more or less soot when i switched over to the Farmhouse, but I switched because I do question whether we can count on the 1275 being consistant at C&S.... I was one of the ones who had to contend with a bad batch of the 1275 last yr...:rolleyes2
I get more soot with the 8 oz masons when i burn more than like 4 hrs. which pisses me off, but I get a great, clean burn with the wide mouth half pint JJ's w/ the Farmhouse... I just hope the 1275 hasn't changed, and who knows, maybe it did
BTW, I use the same wicks as you, so that's not it, unless they're from a different supplier than you usually use... did you change containers, by chance? I swear , even the smallest change can make all the difference... it can be so frustrating.
-
Jenn, was it the 1275 from C&S? Both of these waxes behaved basically the same for me...which wicks do you use?
-
I got their Vanilla Fudge once, and it was strong in my wax, too sweet for my taste, but the oil performed well...Their bottles don't have any info on them as far as being soap safe, flash points, or anything...just a heads up... this was bout 6 mo. ago, they may have changed them by now...

Botanical Bliss from Sweetcakes; just love it!

Has anyone smelled the new Philosophy fragrance Inner Grace? (I THINK it''s new) My GF just smelled it at the QVC store out here and said it's to DIE for, and she's not a huge fan of the other "grace" scents...
-
Hi Sally, I use Farmhouse's 50/50 w/ CD wicks...I am having lots of luck with Bert's oils in my mix!
Let us know how you like the Coffee! Thanks!!
-
Has anyone tried Bert's Colombian Coffee yet? I'm looking to try it as a mixer...
-
A little Ylang gives it a feminine touch:smiley2:
that sounds verrrrry interesting...thanks for the tip!

I finally put on my big girl panties and burned the Eggnog this morning (it was gagging me CT, smelled too much like real eggnog...yuk! I know that's what most of you want) It just smells creamy, slightly vanilla with just a touch of spice, I really like the HT. I'm glad I burned it.
Seeeee??? Told ya!! I think it's yummy!
-
That's a bummer, Jenn! it's one of her great ones!
Oh, and I know it did great in soy, but I wanted to mention that the Redwood and Ceder kicks butt in 50/50 too, great men's scent!
-
I knew there were folks on here that poured it! It does smell very nice OOB...
-
Hi I got a few of them on my last trip for wax...I got:
Pumpkin Mousse-yummy in tarts, haven't tried in jars yet
Classic Holiday Red (I think that's what this one's called) GREAT Christmas scent, needed a few days cure, but awesome!!
Fireside Tea- nice, but not exactly what I was sniffing for...
Red Concept Crisp Apple-Delicious! Sweet Apple, with vanilla, almost like a candy apple scent, yummy in tarts, so far!
Mint Leaf and Chamomile-Great garden mint scent OOB, but too much Chamomile comes out in the wax, just not my cup of tea, shame, I had high hopes for this one!
They have a lot of them that are very nice...there's no way you can tell how they'd work for you, but that's kind of the case with lots of suppliers...you take a chance...
-
I can't wait to get more of Bert's Christmas Tree, I just love it!
-
You're quite welcome! I know what you mean about buying scent "unsniffed" so to speak, THEN there's always the question of whether or not it will work in your wax! :rolleyes2
-
Candlebuddy was looking to try this one, I'm not sure if she got it yet, but maybe she will jump in!
-
Thanks for letting us know! They are very handy!!

Hi, I sniffed the Autumn Afternoon on a trip I had to make there last week, and it smells very nice, hard to describe, but nice... I think a few folks here pour it, so maybe they will jump in...
I got a few of their limited supply scents to play around w/ while I was there too..Pumpkin Mousse, Red Concept Crisp Apple (a sweet apple w/ a touch of vanilla) and Classic Red Holiday (I think that's what it's called!) are VERY nice! For $5 for 8 oz, I couldn't pass up trying a few! (FYI: a good # of the limited supply oils are NOT skin safe!)

I have tested Berts Raspberry...OOB it smells really good...In my Wax it smelled great, but I am getting a Fuel smell...I use GB 415..Has anyone else tried this FO in this wax? I would like to know what results you have gotten...
Hi Ruth! I did burn the raspberry, no fuel smell, and I pour at 9%...I use 50/50 tho., wonder if that makes a difference... I think it smells very good...
-
You're mixing the two together? I poured Eggnog already, tomorrow is test day for that one, Candy Cane, Carmel and Tropical Vanilla. Gosh what will I do next week...better hurry and order more (screw that probation period!)
You'll be testing the Eggnog then? Let us know how you like it...I think it's really very yummy. I gave it a 3 day cure...seemed to do best w/ that...
I don't know, just seemed like a good combo to me, the Christmas Pear and the Eggnog! LOL! Told ya, I am BIG into mixing right now! It can atually save you $$ AND satisfy the "new scent" addiction!
Another Scent Request...

...from a friend of mine...Raspberry Basil???
Anyone ever mix this, and if so, how is it?? She smelled a jar somewhere and loved it, and Fragrance Finder isn't showing anyone having it, so, I am thinking it must be a mix???
