Has anyone poured her Caramel Corn yet? I have a sample to play with and by God, that's JUST what it smells like, strong and YUMMY! May be able to get to it tonight....also got her Exotic Teak, Sea Glass, Tea Leaf and Jasmine, Traditional Cranberry, ooo, and Blackberry...they are all very strong OOB and true, I am gonna mix that Blackberry with something, not sure what yet....
-
Deb, sorry, forgot to answer your question; I really haven't gotten any since July, I am very small potatos :embarasse But I am needing some now, and I am rebelling against the cost increase!!! Don't wanna spend that much, but I guess I don't have a choice...

I mix Cinn and Bayberry great seller for me.
Cindy, do you mix a bakery tye cinnamon, like a cinna crunch, or a straight cinnamon w/ it? I have to try this, Carol K mixes this too...

Yep, not pleased with the price increase myself! If I recall it was a good increase too, like $9.00 maybe? I love the wax too and don't pay shipping, so even with the price increase I still save because I don't pay shipping. Sharon, have you gotten any recently? My last batch seemed more firm than the others. It burned the same, but I had alot of cracks and I spent HOURS fixing them with the heat gun.
Deb, She went from $52 to $63.75/case!!! For 55 lbs...w/ shipping, it's cutting into my profit BIG... I may have to go back to widemouth JJ's after all...:rolleyes2

This one is delicious!!!

I would like to know too, I am dying over here w/ Farmhouse's increase...however, I LOVE the wax...I am wondering if it may have to do w/ the quantity she is able to order from her manufacturer, as opposed to KY-maybe she orders smaller amnts. and therefore pays a higher price herself???
BTW: which 50/50 are you testing from KY? I couldn't tell from her descriptions which one you had...

Thanks for the info on the Spiced Wassail, guys...
-
I don't think Harvest is a straight cinnamon, it's definately the more predominent note, and it's not bakery... you could re-name it...
There's also Sage and Cinnamon, WSP's is very strong...

Sage and Pomegranate - not strong to me
Rain Water - stronger than you would think
Clean Cotton - haven't tried
Apples and Maple Bourbon - haven't tried
Asian Amber - I like this one
Honeysuckle Jasmine - I like this one
Fig Forest - haven't tried
Violet Lime - A favorite of mine, also violet musk from GL but I guess customers that order on line are scared of these 2.
I use 4786 and the ones I have tried were strong throwers except for the sage & pomegranate. CS has a lot of really good fo. Just got through testing the spiced wassail. Strong throw.
Does the Spiced Wassail have an orange note to it? (I could be less lazy and check the description on their site myself I guess!)

Good thread...I felt that way awhile back about Peak Blackberry Sage, thought it smelled like cough syrup OOB, then loved it burning! Strong one, too!
I'm sure there are other's I can't remember right now, but I know this has happened to me more than once...

I like BCN's Northwoods Christmas!
-
Just poured that today & cut it right back to 7%.
It's very strong oob & has mellowed out a little in the soy/pw pillar blend.
Am starting with an LX24 but I think it might need wicking up as it's quite a heavy oil.
I don't usually go for bakery scents but this is gorgeous.
Sally.
Sally, I also wick up on the LB. I also wick up on the Pumpkin Custard Spice and the Vanilla Latte...I do love the LB, and so do most of the folks who sniff it!!!

Is Bert's Lemon Biscotti pie similar to Peak's Lemon Pound Cake? I'd love to try some of her oils, and I need LPC from Peak's but it takes a week to get to me.
Thanks!
Deb, It is the best bakery Lemon I've smelled, I love it, and I am NOT a lemon fan.
Lemme know if ya want an oz to play w/ but I can safely tell ya, it throws great for me in our wax...

Hi Lynn, I didn't know if you were looking for them both from the same supplier, but I can tell you what I use and folks love; Harvest type from BCN, and Forbidden Pomegranate from DS. HTH!

I was lucky and went from a paraffin blend I mixed up myself 3 yrs. ago, to mixing a 50/50 w/ J223, to sticking with the 50/50 alone, and once I figured out the wicking, I never looked back...and YES, the shipping is HUGE, if you can't pick up your wax, that definately figures into my cost...
-
Three yrs. this month actually for me, started out with a partner in all of this and last Dec. took it over just for ME! An addiction for sure; and there's nothing like someone ooh-ing and ahhh-ing over something you made...
-
That's cool! Wish I'd known that when I was out there a few weeks ago!! :undecided

Like the halloween pix of the kids, too!!! Cute!

Here's a good listing of agencies by state... I used this one to find my agent...

I have ordered from http://www14.ivenue.com/lvcreations/index2.ivnu?or_id=D6A30191-929F&cu_id=D6L99-X5329F&st_id=lvcreRJzcxf7tx8. They require a $75 minimum but no tax id. The tealight warmers are really cute and I like their electric ones too. The bowls are deeper than the ones from crystalwarmers.com. Also they come individually boxed which is a plus to me.
thanks for that link!!

I placed my first order yesterday after reading all 25 pages of posts
(we were slow at work yesterday)
going to try out these
Black raspberry vanilla
Chocolate Rasp Drizzle
Apricot
Wedding Cake
Sea Glass
Redwood & Cedar
Paradise
Oak Moss
Cranberry (traditional)
Sweet Currant
Hope you like them! The 2 I've used from your list threw great for me in my 50/50 (Paradise and Redwood and Cedar)
What kind of wax do you use?
BTW: Bert: I am so sorry about your illness and the fact that you had to be sick on your birthday!!! Hang in there and GET SOME REST!!!!

Thanks everyone- this is something I might look into mixing, it does sound very nice, doesn't it?
Thanks for all the searching!!

Well, she raved about it...and sent me on a mission, lol!
Hope someone here has tried it, or I may have to experiment on my own! :rolleyes2
Bad Batches of Paraffin?
in General Candle Making Discussions
Posted
We've all read about folks (myself included :rolleyes2 ) who've gotten ahold of "bad" batches of soy and soy-blend wax...my question is, is this as likely to happen w/ straight paraffin blends?
