  1. Jamie, what other oils do you have? I usually just get my shea from thesage.com as that is where I get several of my other ingredients and it is more convenient to order all from one place.

I have nothing as of yet...I am trying to get evrything organized and ordered before my TOG mold arrives. Any recs??

I am really in the need of a 2# recipe. I am overwhelmed by the lye calculators. :(

    Thanks!

  2. Hi-

I am a newbie and looking to make some soap next week. I am looking for a really creamy soap with a nice lather. I would like the recipe to contain shea butter...just b/c I love it! Can anyone help me out? I find all the lye calculators very confusing...even though I have been reading up on all this for weeks. Also, where is the best place to buy shea for soap making? Thanks so much, you are all so helpful!

  3. Their site is VERY easy to navigate. Just go to the main shopping page, click on category you want and add items to your shopping cart. You can view cart at any time. I have been ordering from this site for going on 6 years and don't find it confusing at all. Carole

It could just be because this is my first time ordering from them, it is not set up like any other supplier sites I frequent.

  4. No recs. I just wanted to wish you good luck in navigating their site-youre. Gonna need it!

Thanks for the warning; however, I already stopped trying to navigate it...

Is there some sort of trick yo the BCN site or am I a moron? I can't even figure out how to add a couple of items to my cart. Wow, maybe I will search down some lye elsewhere. Too bad because I wanted to cut a serrated soap cutter and some vanilla stabilizer as well. This is just too frustrating!

  5. Okay, thanks for that info. I am sorry to seem annoying, but what would be the best place to purchase the items you have listed? I think I can get lye from Lowes or Home Depot. We also have some small/local hardware stores too. Thanks again!

  6. Hi,

I currently make wax tarts, but I am now interested in attempting CP soap making...just as a hobby for gifts, etc. Is anyone able to help me get started...I am clueless as to distributors, supllies, etc. I have done some online research, but nothing seems to be very specific. Any help anyone could offer me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! :)
