Thanks everyone for the input on the jars. I have been using the same few jars over and over again in my testing without problems. But didn't want to send something out for sale if it had a potential for problems. I feel better about using them since I know others are using them successfully. Thanks, Judy

I'm using the zinc wicks with 4627 CB wax. For the most part 2) 44's will work but I have had to use 2)51's on a couple of FO's. Still got a few left to test though. HTH Judy

Thank you. It's good to hear that none of you have had any problems. I am double wicking the jar. I couldn't get a good burn with a single wick. Always had hang up in the corners.

Very nice.

I have been working on wicking this jar for quite some time and have just about tested all my FO's with it. Finally just about the time I am ready to go forward with it, then I read about this jar exploding on someone. Does anyone else use these jars? Successfully? Any problems? I am feeling a little uneasy about using them after reading that.
The pic in my avater is the jar.

I think they look pretty good. Great job.

Nice looking soaps.

Cute Soaps! You are so kind to be doing this for the animals.
I just don't understand how someone could let an animal suffer like that.
I'm thankful that there are people like you out there that step in and make a difference. Thanks.

Neat idea. Very cute. You guys are so creative.

I use the zinc wicks with 4627 with great results. Scent throw is awsome. I don't use the square masons though so I have no idea how to wick that jar. I use the 51Z in the regular jelly jar and it burns very well - if that helps any. Good luck in your testing. Judy

Well it might work but it has to be diluted some how, I would dilute it , strain it, stick blend it with the oils, work with cool temps, and then add the oats later, just to be on the safe side. You want to add the oats at thick trace so they don't all sink to the bottom after you pour, if for some reason the batch traces quickly you won't have to worry about adding 2 things, one at light trace and one at thick trace. Hope this Helps
Got it.
You guys are always so helpful. Thanks so much for the guidance.

Beautiful soaps as always. Everything you do looks great. I am so jealous.

Eucalyptus & Spearmint is my fav but they all look awsome. Your soaps always look great.

Very nice label and I like the product name too.
By the way - I also like your signature line. Cool!

Thank you both.
Cindym - so even if I add it in at trace, I should still dilute it, right?
Mixing it with the oats and stiring it in at trace won't work?

I am making a batch of OMH soap and want to add GM to it. Now I'm wondering if this is ok to do. I had planned to add the ground oats and GM powder together at trace. Will this be ok? Or should I dilute it with a bit of water? I am just hesitant because of what I've read about milks and honey heating up. Suggestions?? TIA, Judy

Thanks Robin and Cindym
I am still tweaking my recipe so your help is greatly appreciated.

I am working on creating my own soap recipe. I am running it through soapcalc.com. This is what I have so far.
38% - Hardness
10% - Cleansing
58% - Conditioning
15% - Fluffy
28% - Stable
Do these numbers look good? What range is best for these catagories?
I would like a hard bar but I also want lots of bubbles and I want it to be conditioning. Opinions please??

Office Max. I just ordered a rubber stamp from them. Not sure about the banner though. I will check when I pick up my stamp.

I use both liquid dye and color chips. I really prefer liquid but there are a few colors that I just can't get so I use the chips for those. I do prefer the liquid with an eye dropper top though. Much easier to control the drops.

What a cool idea.

Great swirl. I love fruit slices in soap. It was one of the first FO's I used in CP.

Very cool. Great layers.
