  1. Anyone know where I can buy this? What I am looking for is something to put aroma ornies on that will allow them to be hung. Currently I use ribbon but would prefer something like the plastic that is sturdy and used to make jewlery or that is used to put price tags on clothing. I don't know the exact name of it so it's hard to do an internet search for it. I hope someone here can help. If you know of any place, I'll gladly take a look.

Also, anyone know where I can purchase 4X6 plastic zip lock bags in bulk? Thanks in advance.

  2. I am not from Ohio, but I will tell you that here in Tx, I must have a resell form on file. The taxes are the responsibility of the person/company selling the finished product. Example: you sell to the car care place for a discounted price (wholesale) and they resell them for say double what they paid. Taxes are reported on the end sell amount. Since they are collecting the money from the consumer and ultimately buying from you for resell, they are responsible for collecting and reporting all sales tax. But, in order for you to be clear (In TX anyway), you must have the resell form on file that includes their tax permit number. Hope that helps explain things some. I'm pretty sure it's standard or similar throughout but check with your comptroller's office. They are best suited to give you the correct answer for the conditions in your state. Good luck!

  3. I'm wondering how everyone packages their soaps for retail sale for those of you who sell soaps. Particularly interested in the packaging on goat's milk soap and shea butter soaps. Wanting to get ideas on how to package other than say shrink wrap or serran (spelling??) wrap. Anyone willing to offer ideas? thanks

  4. Sorry.....I typed that wrong. They are NOT one in the same. They filled out the resale certificate and they do not pay me tax but must pay tax on the final value. Sorry if I typed that wrong. I do have on file the resale certificate. At the top it states Texas Sales and Use Resale Certificate and at the bottom it says

"The taxable items described above.....will be resold, rented or leased by me within the geographical United States of America.....in their present form or attached to other taxable items to be sold. I understand that..........I must pay sales tax on the items at the time of use based upon either the purchase price or the fair market value........"

I figure once they sign this with the tax number they are responsible for sales tax as their signature constitutes acceptance of those terms.

  5. I moved my site to Designer 218 and couldn't be happier. No down time, no slow time. I have two sites with 218 and highly recommend 218 for anyone thinking of moving or starting up.

I second Designer 218.......Mandi is GREAT!....thanks for everything if you're reading this Mandi........she's been such a life saver at times and I highly recommend her. No down time and quickly answered questions even on weekends!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Hi everyone:

I currently do the clear melt and pour soap but have requests for other types of soaps. Was considering using mp goat's milk or shea butter. any suggestions or comments on either? How well do these sell for you? Does one sell more than the other? Don't want to get a lot of something that isn't going to sell for me so I'm going to just dip into it slowly and of course do testing before offering to the public for sale but I wanted opinions, thoughts, sales info, etc. And yes, I know things differ by area. TIA for your time.

  7. If you are talking about making aroma ornies in muffin pans, it may be hard to remove them unless you are speaking of paper muffin liners or something. Another thing that I'm researching right now is if aroma ornie (the name) can even be used. BCS has it trademarked so I don't know how that works but I assume they have the right to call it that and "we" don't. Maybe someone on here will know more on both issues though, but as far as the muffin tins, ornies are plastic and may be hard to remove from the pans. I use cookie cutters for my shapes. What about a round biscuit cutter?

  8. I would give it one or 2 more months to see if things pick up. If you have to sign a long term contract before then, I'd definately think twice before doing so at this point. BUT, if you don't and you can wait it out, as someone said before, the traffice may get better and you may not be able to get a spot there again in the future. Things should start picking up soon.

  9. I did a fundraiser for the local college honor's group. They filled out our state tax exemption resale certificate. Thus, I'm not responsible for the taxes. Whether or not they are that I can't tell you but my bottom is covered. I assume they do not have to pay as it's a non profit organization trying to raise money.

  10. Glad to hear you had a great show. I had a show this weekend too but mine was not so good. I barely made my booth fee back but at least I made it back. They had about 5 or 6 candle vendors there and there were only maybe 20 total craft booths when they advertised over 40-50. They put me right next to another candle vendor at that and this vendor happened to have a rather small booth on the other side of them allowing for a good traffic flow around their booth. Thus, I watched them sell candle after candle after candle when I did not sell even ONE candle....NOT ONE!!! I made my money off of aroma ornies and that's it. Wasn't worth my time. To add to it, it was cold and windy even though it was under a pavillion.....oh well....I suppose you win some you lose some.

  11. Just for everyone's knowledge.....they responded back to me and said they have 7 business days to ship because they do not have a shelf life for their products they make them there. Also, if you ever do want to cancel your order they require a 10 dollar cancellation fee. I won't be doing any more business with them because I find the shipping time to be outrageous. I didn't need the oils in a hurry but still 2 weeks almost 2 and a half weeks is just too much for me. Mine is scheduled to ship today. I said go ahead and ship but as I said I won't be ordering from them in the future in less I have no other choice.

  12. Anyone had problems with them? It has been 2 weeks and they have not shipped and my status shows as pending. I contacted them by email and hope they will respond soon. I went and found the items from another supplier so I really don't "need" these items now that they have taken so long. I told them that if it hasn't already shipped then I don't want it and will tell my American Express card to NOT approve the charge. Anyone else had problems with them?

NOTE: I just did a search of the board and I think I answered my own question after I initially made this post. Still though two weeks shipping time is a while so I will wait to see what the deal is. You would think they'd have better customer service. I don't think I will do business with them again.

  13. AHHHHHHHHHHH :angry2: Can you believe I got not ONE but TWO bad cartridges??????? Thought maybe it was my printer. Took the old cartridge back to Target and got a new one and it did the same thing. Thus, my suspect was my printer. Cleaned everything, got on the phone with tech support, etc with no end result. As a last resort before buying a new printer, I went to Wally World and bought just the color ink and low and behold when I get home everything is fine. No problems with this printer ink. NEVER NEVER again will I buy ink from Target. (Sorry all of you who like Target)...............or is it Lexmark I should be upset with???
