  1. I see where Lonestar has decreased their IGI waxes by $3.00 - $4.00 per case depending on which wax it is

Hopefully the rest of the suppliers are able to do the same as they replenish their existing stock

And hopefully this is a sign of things to come and we see more of the same as all the manufacturers give further price reductions

  2. Attention everyone!

I am looking to make a huge make-believe order sometime in the distant future and would really like to have a free sample of your products - so please send me full sized samples of anything and everything you happen to make

Please send it ASAP so it can arrive before Christmas and give me time to wrap, ummmm I mean check them out

Since I will be spending all this make believe money sometime in the next 50 or 60 years, I am sure you won't mind paying shipping charges as well

    Thank you very much,

    scrubzz

  3. I just got that black pepper ... tell me it's far better than a straight whiff out of the bottle lol. Actually ... is it really hot and sexy for a masculine scent?

Personally I love it - Used it in a shaving soap

My male CNAs will be getting it for Christmas from me lol

  4. I have made one order from them - I have been playing with some M&P for a few couple Christmas presents - I got the Black Pepper, Dragon's Blood, Green Tweed & OMH

All I can say on each of these is wow!

I am very impressed with each and will be ordering more

  5. I googled and found a couple places that might be what you want -

First let me say I know nothing about either of these places nor have I dealt with either - I pasted the amount each site claims for usage underneath the respective links

    http://www.cccandlesupply.com

1/2 ounce of powder dye will color about 150-200 pounds of wax to a medium shade

    http://www.capricornslair.com

1/2oz will easily dye 40-70 lbs of wax depending on depth of color desired

  6. I posted a thread about a week or so ago about how I was getting a great cold throw but no hot throw no matter what I tried

Well - the temp outside has dropped down into the 20's here tonight and I decided to burn some candles to go along with the fire in the fireplace - It didn't matter to me if I got a HT or not, I just wanted to burn something else since I was burning the wood - and I love watching candles burn, that's what got me started with all this year's ago anyway lol

Anyway, I pulled out the first box of stored tealights I came to, which was a wax blend I had attempted with 6% Peak's Sweet Pea - I lit up 6 of them on the mantle in my Living Room which measures approx 18' x 18' with a high vaulted ceiling and also is open onto the kitchen, the main entry way and the hallway back to the bedrooms (It is a LOT larger than the room I was test burning in)

Anyway, I was watching TV for a bit and all of a sudden it sank into what everyone laughingly refers to as my brain that I was smelling Sweet Pea loud and clear - And it was throughout the entire room too!

I immediately forgot about the show I was watching (It's ok - it is still on the same channel and I can rewind it - Gotta love a DVR!) and went and grabbed a couple of the other boxes - 3 tea lights of Peak's Lavendar at 6% in 6006 burning in that same 10' x 12' room with an 8' ceiling where I tested before with no HT that I could distinguish now almost runs me out of the room!

1 single tea light of Peak's Bird of Paradise at 6% in 4627 fills a 8' x 8' bathroom perfectly!

I have no idea what was going on before - but now I have to figure out which of all these waxes and blends I have poured up I like the best - not an easy choice at all because they all seem to be throwing great so far!

And I know you can't see it, but just imagine the grin going on here right now!

  7. starting monday (17th) obi will have a new site called obiauction.com

since it's an auction site where anybody can bid i would assume you will not need a tid #.

Went to the site & read this -

    4. You must have an account with Opportunity Buys Inc to bid in the auction. We are a wholesaler that only sells to businesses. There is no charge for membership but you must provide proof that you own a business to sign up.

  8. as I said, am will to try anything at this point - will break out the jars for sure -

I know that a tealite is small and will not have a HT like a container of any size - but shouldn't lighting 3 - 6 of them (yes, have tried up to 6) at the same time in a small room give an idea of a sufficient HT? Maybe it is my memory playing tricks on me but I always remembered getting a great HT from lighting a mumber of tealites together

  9. Consider this a desperate cry for help!!!

Sorry this is long but - I no longer have a clue of what else to try!

As many of you know I took a break from the wax for a couple of years - and now I since I came back I can't get a decent HT to save my life!

I used to use a blend of J223/soy at 75/25 and had both a great CT and HT

Since I came back to the flame I had to switch wax because the main supplier I use because of shipping costs does not carry the 223

So I played around a bit with blending and got a great CT but no HT - wasted a lot of wax and FO so I decided ok, time to just get a wax from the manufacturer and just use it and continue playing with blending "on the side" - so I got some 6006 and 4627 and thought that would get me started since I have read so much of how great they throw

Using 2 FO's I knew should have a knock your socks off throw (Peak's Sage & Lemongrass and Peak's Lavender) I poured some tea lights with each FO at 6% (I have always used tealites to test how an FO acts in my wax)

Anyway - both had a great CT, could not ask for better - but I can barely tell I have a candle burning when lit unless I am looking at the flame! And no it isn't candlenose because I have left the room several times, and even sniffed coffee grounds to clear the nasal palette - Virtually no HT at all!

I used the recommendation for pour temp of 175-185° for the 4627 and 165-175° for the 6006 and poured each 3 separate times (4627 poured at 185°, 180°, & 175° - 6006 at 165, 170 & 175) Per the recommendations I added FO at slightly above the pour temp and held it constant at that temp while adding the FO - and then poured immediately when the temp reached pour temp

And yes I let them cure in a closed box for a week (Still great CT) and I am burning multiple tea lites in a smaller room - With these FOs (and a number of others I have tried) I should be getting a ton more throw that what I have here

    any suggestions at all?

I will try almost anything at this point - If you suggest I dance naked under a full moon I will probably do it even if it is November!

and second edit to add - have used several different tealite wicks from candlewic - no difference noted
