  1. Does anybody know where I can get the good quality (thick glass) metro/status jars without the seams at a decent price? Cajun's were lopsided and thin, so I sent those back. I love the quality from the jar store, but the seam bothers me. Maybe nobody else would care about the seam? Thanks!
  2. beautiful! I would buy those, great job :highfive:
  3. I asked the same question about a week ago and I was told you can put the lid on as soon as the candle is cool.
  4. Perfect! The metro jar has a 3 inch diameter and I made a batch with 775 today. Hopefully I'll have the same luck as you!
  5. I'm trying to single wick a 12oz metro jar. From previous searches I've read that others have had the same problem. I am getting a decent melt pool, but it's not as clean as I would like and it doesn't catch up later on. I'm trying the 700s right now, but I might give cd's a try..thanks!
  6. I've found that GB464 is very easy to work with and we're just beginning to get into making candles. I get smooth tops every time and it has great cold and hot throw. Now if I could just find the right wick for my jar!!!
  7. That's adorable! My kids would love it, I'll have to try to come up with someting like it for them.
  8. I appreciate all of your help! I posted this without thinking the question through (sorry, my wife is much better at this than I!) and I now realize how loaded this question actually was. I'll use the search feature and figure more out for myself. I look forward to working out other "kinks" in the candle making process with you all on the message board in the near future. Thanks again! We are using a 12oz metro jar, Glass Glow wax, CSN 14 and 1oz FO. We're burning it for the first time this morning and it seems to be doing fine It's not burning perfectly clean to the edges, but extremely close. Hopefully we'll get the result we want in another burn or two.
  9. I am fairly new to the biz and have now tested wicks from several companies and several styles from HTP to LX and the new CSN from CS. I use GB415 & 464 and Glass Glow Palm. I am having problems finding a place that uses quality wicks. Can anyone suggest a great place or two to but wicks from? Also, any recommendations on types of wicks? I had problems with HTP...they had a bad burnt smell thaqt overthrew the scents. I feel LX may burn too quickly and had luck in the beginning with cotton wicks. Any help will greatly be appreciated
  10. I've read that a palm candle should cure for 5-7 days. Should we put the lid on the candle while curing or not? We've only cured our soy candles for 48 hours, so it's never been an issue. Does having the lid on or off make a difference? Thank you so much for any advice!
