I miss the good old days! Nowadays it's all about making a quick buck for the manufacturers, the suppliers and makers. Waxes are NOT what they used to be. Overload on wax blends and FO's for sure. Seems like every day there's a new blend popping up somewhere. It's ridiculous. I decided to go back to old school candle making and simplicity.

oh changing names is tough
Scentability" or "Scent-Ability" as in Scent and the "ability" to created scented goodies?
Scented Senses?
Scented Crafts? Forum? Community? SCF or SCC shortWheels are turning in this foggy brain of mine. LOL

They just bought Elements too! Wonder when they’ll purchase Candle Science LOL
I think CS sold out to a Fragrance House a while back? I remember seeing something about it....somewhere.

So...I got an email from a friend saying that TCS website is back. I checked and it is. Same as before. Does anyone know if they're back?

I never liked LX wicks for containers but do like them for Pillars. CD's do well in soy bc they burn hotter.
I'd give Zinc wicks a try for a paraffin wax. They burn cooler than cotton wicks and do very well, I'd start with a 51Z for you size/diameter -

I’m not sure who their target market is. If it’s other crafters it would be too expensive if totally free. We would be selling to ourselves.
I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that it is in fact other crafters since they are a DIY crafting company mostly now. I think I'm just gonna stick with my own websites.

I just got the sign up email but not sure if I want to do it.
They have a free basic version and a premium version for 9.98. On top of that they want a "low" recommendation fee and percentage +0.20 cent per sale. Hmmm

Stonehenge was another one. My husband loved that one and I always made his soap with it.

I know there are a few of their fragrances that are a staple in my line. I am hoping whoever buys will keep my favorites.
I have to say I wasn't really surprised by the news either. There are a lot of things out of stock or discontinued. But I wish him the best of luck in whatever he does.
Yes, same here. Autumn Leaves and All Hallows Eve are two of my bestsellers and have been for 18 years. Let's hope WSP doesn't get their grubby, greedy hands on them. LOL

Sad to see this but not surprised. Lots of products were discontinued over the last 2 years
I got my start with BCN with a kit....and I will miss them.- 3

Love this scent bought from Aztec. Poured up some test candles and melts using 6006. The oil smells amazing but I'm getting very little cold throw and trying the melts and they aren't throwing like I'd like. I started with 9% so can't raise it much. Anyone else had any trouble with this scent or could it be something I've done?
Personally I don't have much luck with Aztec FO's. There's only about a handful that throw for me...or to my liking. I never used their Mac Apple but I do use CS's and it's good at 8% in my waxes.

Before I go hog wild on samples again and get super disappointed....can anyone recommend any Fall and Bakery scents from TCMS that are must haves in Paraffin and Soy? I know I'm asking a lot.

I ordered some scents from NG this last month to replenish my stock. When I did it, there was a sale going on where I could get an additional rewards for orders. However, even after I placed my order and received the selection, they hadn't increased those rewards even for what I had bought.
I contacted their customer service a time or two, NG apologized and said that they would take care of things. When I finally got my additional rewards a few weeks later after the contact with them, it was only increased by 17 even after all that trouble. Needless to say, I'm still not impressed...
they need to get this rewards thing fixed. People are getting pissed off.

Well hopefully it's a temporary thing. Maybe he'll respond to your email soon. I hope everything's ok with them.
Haven't heard a peep as of yet. I am guessing oversaturation and insane inflation of the market in general might be a factor. He's kept his prices pretty decent.
The whole suppliers/maker market is oversaturated and prices are completely ridiculous. Not to mention shipping.- 2

I have a friend who has emailed him in the past with no reply. That's why I didn't email him about his wax. I really liked his sugared cranberry and the great pumpkin oils too and a few others. That was pretty crappy to not let people know what was going on. The least they could do is refer their customers to other suppliers that may carry the same oils and wax.
This is only the second or third time he hasn't replied to my emails in the last 17 years so I'm not sure what to make of it. I have always had a decent " email relationship" with him. He's always been very helpful in regards to questions about usage of his wax and oils. Just not very forthcoming with actual facts about his wax(es) which to a degree I can understand if it was proprietary. Other suppliers don't give much info on that front either. The Google says "temporarily closed" now ....not sure what to make of that either. I know I will miss his goodies.

Maybe he would consider a special buy for you and others who like his fragrances.
considering he hasn't bothered to reply I highly doubt it.

Do you think they would be offended if I asked them where a couple of their scents were from?
I just emailed Loren and asked if he'd mind sharing where his oils and wax came from. He was never very forthcoming about his wax but maybe now that he no longer sells supplies he will share. All we can do is ask...and all he can do is say yes or no. I know I will be crying rivers of tears once I get low on some of his oils.

I hate to hear this. They had the best tart wax but their shipping to me was too high so I quit using it. I wish I could get ahold of them to see if there was another supplier who carried it. I've never been able to find it anywhere else. I also liked some of their oils too.
Loren was out of wax for over a year. Not the first time this happened with TCS.
He would never say where his wax came from or if another supplier carried it. Some of us figured out that Swan's carried it but I don't think they do anymore.- 1

I, too enjoy unique scents & blends. I am more of a Fall, woodsy, spice, resin and bakery/foodie type.

I tried quitting once. It was the longest weekend of my life. 😂
that's about how long my "quitting" lasted! Even this past year having to deal with personal stuffs, I couldn't stay away....testing new wax kept me sane this time around. Never thought that would actually be the case

Glad you have the time and desire to continue. We are all in this together. I think we can circle our wagons and make great things in this group.
Oh I could never stop. Hopelessly addicted for almost 20 years now. I tried quitting. LOL...didn't work out. So I embraced my addiction.

Count me in! I'm done with my personal "issues" so I can focus on candlemaking 100% once again. Hahahaha. Plus I just lost two of my main suppliers so I'm definitely looking for new ones.
