  1. I have an order for a gel candle with fruit embeds...... well i never got around to ordering wax fruit embeds and i need to make apple slices. Im going to try to make some apples slices from a candy mold but the mold is moons :undecided im going to try to impersonate the moons for apple slices (hopefully) Its the best i could come up with. I know its ghetto but i dont have any choice. Acmoore's doesn't have any fruit molds whatsoever!:angry2:

My question is how do i get the color for apple slices? I was thinking a tiny little bit of brown:confused:

Anyone with any ideas please respond

    Thankyou

  2. Hi i went to my local craft store and bought 2lb block of soap base (shea butter)

I have to admit it was completely out of impulse:D . I usually post on the candlemaking section and have always wondered about making soaps. So today i did it. I bought the base and the soap dye i aready have skin safe fo's. Some of my fo's are skin, gel and candle safe. i have been looking on wesites ,etc. and i literally just pour the melted soap with the dye and fragrance added into a mold and thats it? (Forgive me if that sounded like it takes no effort at all to make, But i was just curious if thats how you make it) I also have seen on the forums about "drying soaps" is that when you are letting it harden?

Sorry for the simple question but i want to make sure i got a general idea before i began anything. I only make candles and this is my first attempt with soaps.

    Thank you all so much

  3. Hello everyoneI make the wax bears and yes the vanilla will discolor the white bears, so if someone wants a vanilla bear i do a cream or a off white bear. I have actually done a variety of differnt scents with these bears. i have done the cinnamon the most i think its when i decorate them i always have the bear holding cinnamon sticks which is really cute.

I have an order this weekend for a coolwater bear and a pink strawberry bunny

  4. My thoughts exactly. What is your reason for testing? testing the wicks is something you surely dont surpass. I have been on this forum for along time...And not to long ago i joined this forum... i dont post too much i mainly read the forums while i have my morning coffee:cheesy2:

But anyway, these are very helpful ladies and gentlemen on here who are more then willing to help... i think you misunderstood them , they are trying to help you.

  5. Thank you everyone for all the helpful tips. The firestarters and the chunks is a great idea.Im going to put aside a dozen candles for them and to make some chunks... And the rest im going to make some tarts and let them sit for a couple days and then test them to see if they have a throw to them. Thanks again everyone:D

  6. hi everyone

my sister works at cvs and they were throwing out some tapers (red, white, ect.) that i guess melted and bent. She grabbed them for me thinking i could use them to remake candles to sell. They have no scent.

I have always used candle slabs from candle companys that are already preblended, i never played around with remelting candles to make new ones. Because i never knew whats in there or are they preblended or straight parrafin.

Has anyone ever tried to remake candles without knowing what additives are in there? Im just wondering if these no scented tapers will hold a scent.

I hate to not use them , maybe i could make some tarts or crumbles with them. Im going to make some tarts probably tomorrow and see how it goes, if anyone has any suggestions then please tell me.:undecided
