  1. Hi everyone

i have a ton of differn't color taper candles that have no scent, some are colored but mostly there white.

I dont know what kind of wax it is other then its a hard wax:rolleyes2 . I know i can reuse these for firestarters, ect. but is there anyway i can make votives with these if i add a addtitve for them to be able to hold a scent...Im assuming that its straight parrafin and there was no need to add additives when the company made them since they are suppose to be unscented.

I hope that was worded right. Anyway if someone know whats i can do with them please let me know. My firestarters isn't a #1 seller so i would hate to save all these tapers strictly for that reason if i can add something to them to make votives or something:confused:

I know im not giving alot of info on them but maybe someone can tell me something

    Thank you

  2. Hi to be quite honest i buy animals from yards sales (usually for .25 to .50) and the local flea markets , ofcourse i make sure there very clean. Just like Victoriaj said the long ones are nicest to work with, But i have dipped short haired animals also and they turned out ok also. Now the beany baby animals they have absolutely no fur to fluff and the beans kind of settled to the bottom and its almost impossible to try to position them (atleast from my experience with them). Check your flea markets and even yard sales you can find the cutest bears for like a quarter to fifty cents to play around with before you order the scragglies bears or any other kind of animals online.

    Good luck

  3. Yes i think a kit would be in your best interest. There is no sense in buying a bunch of supplies with the chance you may or may not like the addiction lol.

Keep reading the posts you will learn alot and dont be afraid to ask questions whether you think there silly or not, im sure i asked some doozies :rolleyes2 .

Everyone chimed in with some help and advice.

This is like my morning newspaper.

  4. This is my first for all her products... when i make my candles i will certainly let you all know how the fh123 wax is. Yes i did buy some fo's and they are very strong and they smell like there suppose in the bottle but i'll let you know more once my candles are made and i test the hot throw and cold throw.

    I bought orange chiffon cake

    seashore

    ginger peach

joshua tree (not sure what that is suppose to smell like but it smell very nice)

    watermelon

and some more but i cant remember off hand.

My total came to 52.00 but if i was to order that online it would probably be around 80 some dollars im sure with shipping.

And the good news is that now that i dont have to pay shipping charges i can spend even more money lol:tiptoe:

But yes when i make my candles and test them i will immediately post here.

  5. Just wanted to let everyone know, the wax has arrived at Farmhouse. I got an email yesterday from Sherri.:whoohoo:

I just left her farmhouse yesterday with the fh123 wax and the 50/50 pillar votive wax. Thank god she lives near by , i was almost going to give up making the candles because shipping killed me...She is just a lovely person. This is the first time i'll be using her wax but by the looks of this post I have nothing to worry about:yay:

  6. You have only been making candles for 2 weeks and already have sold some:shocked2: .Im happy for you BUT i myself and countless others have tested candles for months to come up with a safe candle. You simply dont melt the wax ,wick, stir the fo and dye and then sell. please practice and test some more before you sell to general public, give some to friends and family and tell them they are testers and to write doiwn for you what happens during the course of the burning candle. Good luck

  7. Tina, once you pick yourself up off the floor laughing, this just goes to show how excited I am about your class.

My wax is melted, my molds are wicked, I even made up some little cork mold tilter thingies out of wine corks. Even set the alarm clock so I would be there on time. LMAO

Guess I'll go practice some waves.

    lol aawww thats cute:cheesy2:

  8. hi everyone im kind of new to soaping and only made the m&p soaps, mainly shea butter.

Could any one tell me if i could add anything to my m&p soaps like epsom salts,or maybe oatmeal, any suggestions? I want to be alittle more creative other then just the swirls (although it can be fun):grin2:

    TIA
