  6. Hi Dana I never read a book on candlemaking, I just read these forums and other forums. Don't be scared about attemping to make your first candle... You need patience , expect fustration and mistakes (its only normal) Then if you keep following through on advice from others and your own intuitions & allow yourself patience you will get great satisfaction from your candles. (even the candlemaking pro's still come across frustion from time to time)Candlemaking isn't easy by far ,theres alot of testing involved but very rewarding and who knows this time next year you could be giving candles to family and friends for the holidays.:highfive: Good Luck and when you do make your first candle then post a pic for us to see!

  13. actually i sprinkled glitter on the outside of the 1st candle and it did look really pretty.........I dont knoe if it was candle glitter but the glitter was almost like a dust instead of regular craft glitter. So hopefully that is ok to use.:embarasse I will try the cd8 next burn test. Your help is greatly appreciated.

  17. I made a snowball candle about 4 days ago and finally lit it to test burn yesterday, I used 50/50 pillar votive wax from farmhouse , peppermint FO from lonestar and 44-24-18 zinc wick. well The first burn was about for 3 to 4 hours and it just looked beautiful, so earlier today i relit it for another 3 0r 4 hours and when i just peeked in on it closely i had a blowout:mad: . Why did this happen? Is it the wick? should i go down in a siz? P.S I made the snowball without a mold. It was just a corecandle and then did the whipped grubbywax all around it to shape it to a ball. Any suggestions please:rolleyes2
  18. Thank you snow, that is also a good idea for the ornies. Check soon in the stores because im not sure how long they keep them on clearence for. Violetsexoticcandles im going to check the strenght of these bags, im going to just keep them for crafts shows and homeshows to be on the safe side, I hope i dont forget i have these next year Thanks
  19. Noooooo ... its not for kids:shocked2: . It was for us to use as little baggies for our small items for next year, maybe something differnt for us to try or atleast for me to try. Just figure i would give and get some ideas to everyone because there so cheap right now if people liked the idea they should go soon to the stores and hit the clearence sales before all those items are gone till next halloween.:smiley2:
  20. oh well guys... no need to comment.... i thought i had a good idea:undecided
  21. Put tarts or votives in those halloween goodie bag (tht candy normally goes into) when you have craft shows or home shows? I was at CVS and they are having a 90 percent off sale on there halloween items and i seen the packages for .10, I couldn't think fast enough what to use them for so i grab a dollars worth and i figure i would think about it later,,,,using them for tarts or votives is what i came up with so far for next year. Has anyone ever did that? Maybe i have given you guys something new to try for next year. Let me know what you guys think. If you like the idea then go now while there on clearance.
