Wow, I just popped over there to check out some of the Fo's. I have ordered other stuff from them before but not Fo's. I can see where they can offer free shipping on them since most of the ones I looked at (BBW dupes) were in the $27-$31 for 16 oz range. Maybe it's just me but isn't that rather spendy for 16oz of Fo?

Thanks for the replys. I can't remember where I got the CLV, I'll have to check. I wonder if the Cherry Blossom scents you were talking aboaut are the same scent I am looking for cause I think BBW has both a Cherry Blossom and a Japanese Cherry Blossom line. I am wanting the JCB. Thanks again

I know there have been several threads asking where to get this FO. Now, the question is has anybody gotten this FO and what is your opinion. I LOVE this scent in BBW lotion and would love to have some soap to go with it. I have checked several of the sights that sell it and just don't know where to go to get the best dupe. I know in the past when I have been trying to dupes of CLV and WVS I have been rather disappointed cause most of the ones I have tried are nice but not really a close dupe. TIA

A couple of my favs from Peaks (I do soy and cp soap) are...
Apple Jack and Peel
Black Raspberry Vanilla
Spiced Cranberry
Grandmas Swinging Eggnog
Hot Cocoa
I know there are more that's all I can think of right now.

WOW, there are a lot of us here! I'm in west central about 30 miles east of Fergus Falls. I just ordered some square masons from BCN last week. I usually get my jars from Candles and Supplies out of PA but the shipping is SO HIGH unfortunately I have not found the 10oz apoths that I use elsewhere. I get my soy from the Waxhouse in Cold Spring, MN ( real close to St Cloud) they are good to deal with, just don't have a very big jar selection.

Well, besides my soaps and candles etc. I have done cross stitch, quilting, stained glass, rubber stamping, scrapebooking and I'm sure a few more. I also take care of 5 horses and 3 dogs and 3 cats and a small farm I guess that is a talent. I"m in a 110+ year old farm house that is pretty small and only had 1 (yes I said 1) closet in the entire house so I kinda have to limit my "talents" since I don't have any place to put them!

I'm not too fond of the scent either but I made 2 soy candles and took them to the Harley Davidson dealer we got our bikes from and everyone there loved them. I asked them to test the smell out for me but every time I have been back there and ask how they burned they tell me...OH we have not burned them we don't want to use them up. Well DUH I can make more

I have used the gel colorants from BCN and have been able to get a nice purple.

I like the Apple Jack and Peel from Peaks. I label that one Hot Apple Cider, and sell quite a few of them.

I ordered 3 cases of 10oz apothecary jars with the metal lids from Candles and Supplies. The total for the jars was $66 and change and when I got the paypal request I am being charged 27.57 for the shipping. Now I just sold some rubber stamping stuff on Ebay and the box weighs over 100 pounds and I am only spending $69 to ship that out to Washington state from Minnesota. I ordered some square masons from BCN the other day unfortunately they don't carry the 10oz apoths

I sure wish I could find fresh goatsmilk but have not been able to get it anywhere around here. So, I guess I'll have to stick with the powder. I need to order some more, where is the best place to get it? Are any brands better than others? TIA

I melt my soy wax in my presto pot, then pour that into 3 cup measuring cups (I got some plastic ones at the Dollar Store) then I add my FO and dye and let it cool til slushy. I then pour into my containers. I wipe out the measuring cups with paper towels then wash the cups with hot soapy water.

I saw this on ebay and thought it was a big train wreck...http://cgi.ebay.com/Real-Handmade-Soap-making-kit-for-Newbies_W0QQitemZ140067599246QQihZ004QQcategoryZ41205QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I use the big craft sticks that I buy in a package at Wally world. They are the ones that look like a tongue depresser.

The first mold I ever had was a 16 bar Misty Creek mold. I liked it so much I had my BIL (who is a cabinet/furniture maker) make me 2 more just like it.

I use the RRD 50 with almost all of my FO's in my square masons. As stated before it may take more than the first burn to clean the sides but by the second or third mine clean pretty well.
-
As others have said if you don't get zapped it's probably just ash and that's not uncommon. As far as the color it's more than likely from the FO as most anything with vanilla will discolor. Mine WVS has always eventually turned a tannish brown color.

For those that sell their soaps how many different recipes do you use? Also while I'm here asking questions how many of you sell goatsmilk soaps? Do you think it sells any better than "plain" soap? And one more, do you think people are more likely to buy a smaller bar (3oz or so) for $3-4 than a larger bar (4-5 oz) for $5-6. TIA

The Chemistry store has some FO's on sale and there are several that sound good. Has anyone cp'd FO's from the Chemistry store and how did you like them. I checked the scent review board but there wasn't much there. TIA
-
I love this scent from BBW. I am looking for a good dupe, and have found 2 places that have it. One is Save on scents and the other is The Chemistry store. Has anyone used either of these FO's? There is a review on the Save on Scents sight that says it's a nice FO but not really a good dupe.

I ride horses and a Harley, needless to say I LIKE leather I tested Peaks leather in soy a year or so ago. It is a pretty true leather smell. Unfortunately, I did not like the results in a candle but that's just me.

I did the Annual Craft show at the school in our small town yesterday. It's a pretty good size show close to 100 vendors held in the hallways of the school. This is at least the tenth year the show has been held. I was mainly selling soy candles and soaps.( there wasn't anyone else selling candles that I saw and only mp soap mine is cp) Didn't do too well with either, but then talking to other vendors no one did well. So...I did soy candles in a enamelware mug with a lid they hold about 20 oz and had them priced at $18 I had tons of folks look and say how cute etc but only sold 5 of them. Think I had them priced too high? My other candles are a 8oz square mason with the heavy zinc lids I have those at $8 and my 10 apothecary jars with the metal lids with handles at $12. My soaps are big bars probably 4-5 oz and come with a nylon scrubbie I have those at $6. So are my prices to high or is it just shows are slow and no one is buying much this year. I sure didn't see a lot of people carrying stuff around yesterday. TIA

I sure wish BCN would carry the Country Comfort jars in a 10 oz. I have been using ones like them from Candles and Supplies for a while now and really don't want to go as big as 16oz glass since I do a 20oz in a enamelware mug. I know earlier in this thread someone mentioned the place near Des Moines IA. I think I talked to them a year or so ago and they had good prices on the square masons but you had to get like 400 jars at a time and then the shipping is still high. Sometimes I hate living in the middle of no where
