  1. I thought there was a sticky thread somewhere with a listing of suppliers by state - but I can't find it! Can anyone point me to that list? Thank you!
  2. Kangaroo Blue has so sadly stopped carrying the tubes I've been buying from them for my lip stains, and I can't find them anywhere else. I have less than 100 left and they'll be gone soon. Does anyone have ideas for where I could find more of these? Here's a photo of what I'm talking about (Kangaroo Blue called them "fancy lip tubes" and they have "elevator" mechanisms) - http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15530905 Thanks for anyone's help with this!
  3. I use a lot of micas, mostly from Brambleberry, and also a number of different clays.
  4. Milky Way makes soap paints. http://www.milkywaymolds.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=mwm&Category_Code=SP And here are some tips on using them: http://www.milkywaymolds.com/pages/tips_painting.html
  5. I really liked Grasshopper Cheesecake for that combo too.
  6. I have a shop on Etsy. It's been great for me!
  7. Here is what Chris from Solas told me via email when I inquired about placing an order recently (I was too late ): "Sorry, but we are closed indefinitely. I'm not ruling out the possibility of reopening, but it won't be for some time." So I'm thinking it doesn't sound like they'd be selling to another supplier if there is still a possibility of reopening some time down the road...
  8. Here are a few options: http://www.keystonecandlesupply.com/catalog.php?category=12 http://www.wicks-wax-scents.com/air-fresheners.html https://www.oakcourtcreations.com/ProductCart/pc/viewcategories.asp?idCategory=15&pageStyle=H I was actually thinking about gauging interest in a little coop for some from wicks and wax (the middle link) - I want some of the gingerbread men and the pumpkins, but you have to order 100 at a time if you want all the same color and that's more than I need...
  9. Cybilla's Coconut at Brambleberry is excellent, I love it. Have only used it in mp and b&b, not in cold process so I can't comment on that. But it's very true.
  10. Yep, they're raising prices 7% on solid soaps, 4% on liquid products. Bummer.
  11. Thanks for your reply! I think I may just go with the Winter then, I'm looking for something minty and not perfumy - the descriptions of the two fragrances are kind of similar, so I wasn't sure of the differences. Thanks.
  12. I don't do much in the way of food types either, but of course Wendy's VBN, and I also love BW Orange Chocolate Truffle - it smells divine!
  13. I'm placing an order (while I still can) and trying to decide between the two. I'd love anyone's reviews on either!
  14. Hi Deanna, I make loofah soaps and they are quite easy and fun! I don't prep the loofahs at all, I just set them in my mold and pour the soap over them. Sometimes they want to "float" for a second until they absorb the soap, but I just push them back down and they do fine. You can either use individual loofah slices and embed them in a mold (this is what I do) or you can get a big piece of loofah and use a tube mold, then slice the log into bars. Easy peasy!
  15. I like spring orchard, that's a good idea because I think the fragrance has hints of floral as well as the apple notes.
  16. I love this scent and am trying to think of a seasonless name for it - I can't seem to come up with much, because the scent is so much more complex than apple... any ideas?
  17. How wide-mouthed do they need to be? SKS has a nice selection of glass jars here: http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/G2.html - but I'm not sure if they meet your wide mouth qualification or not. I think the cobalt blue glass jars are gorgeous!
  18. Thanks everyone! Michi, they are individual bars, but I didn't fill the mold all the way to the top so they're actually only about 3 oz. each - if I'd filled the mold all the way they would have been about 4 oz. I did use one of the Cashmere & Pearls bars, and no black bubbles - that'd be super fun if it did make black bubbles! I make a men's soap that's all black clay, and it has sort of a grayish lather.
  19. I don't often post pics of my glycerin soaps, but these were really fun to do and I wanted to share. The black and white soaps are Backwoods Cashmere & Pearls - for the black part I used black clay and pearlizing mica. The purple and green soaps are Backwoods Lilac - the purple is mica, and I used french green clay for the "background". These were sort of addictive, I want to try them with several colors now! Sarah
  20. The usage rate was only recently posted to the OT site. When I first bought flavor oils from them, this past summer, I had to email numerous times over several weeks before I finally got a response about how much to use. I'm glad they have it posted on the site now. That said, I do really like the flavor oils I have from them. I use the Lime Sugar, Chai Tea, Mint Green Tea and Cherie Rose. My experience with OT has always been amazing supplies, not such amazing customer service - but I like the supplies enough that I continue to shop there, and I do recommend the flavor oils. And I know many have shopped there without any customer service issues, so don't let my couple of bad experiences deter anyone.
  21. Brambleberry has some nice looking shakers in their packaging section - worth checking out!
  22. I placed a huge order with them a month or so ago, and their website at that time was already giving notice of the price increase, and they already had a new price list available so customers could see how much it was going up. I wish I had the money to place an even bigger order before prices went up, but I just bought what I could. Too bad.
  23. Thanks for your reply - do you mean that you haven't experienced bleeding with the Select Shades or with micas? I haven't actually used Select Shades, I just read under the FAQ on their page that they'll probably bleed in mp because of the water content in the mp. I have experienced some bleeding with the micas I use though...
