OR.... you could just use a scent you already have and change the name. I dunno just an idea. You should puts some beads on your candle though.

I personally love pourette. com they have a ton of molds really cheap. Plus they will ship priority if you dont want to do ups. But I get my wax near me.
-
No Scented I didn't even think to look there. Thanks a lot, that's it.

I saw a yankme candle at Bed Bath and Beyond. Of course it was overpriced and the wick was all crazy. But it smelled so good. It had the word Amber in it. I was wondering if anyone knew the name of it and where I might be able to get a dupe FO?
-
Brooke where in Indiana are you? If your near Chicago there is a place in the Chicago Subs you can get them and not pay shipping.

I prefer color chips. Less mess. Are you making them pyramid treasure candles? The question you probably should be asking is what wick to use. Thats the hardest part.
-
That is insanity!!!! You have to be smoking something cheap to spend that kinda money on a candle. I don't give a rat's butt where it came from and who's selling them. That thing better last for freakin' ever.
-
TOP, That sounds like something you would do. You had to expermint to see if you could get the treasure out without burning yourself. TOP is always experminting with something. LOL
Oh yes he's a regular scientist.

its not ugly, you just aren't picturing it in the right setting.
Its a theme candle.
Looks like something that would be pulled out of the sea after 100 years burried in its depths.
Like its deep ocean with seaweed and gold and mermaids etc...
Its a theme candle.
Wow, you almost sold me.

8 years. Why'd it take so long? Your candles are amazing.

Has anyone on here ever made Treasure Candles (theyre candles with little treasures inside them usually sterling silver charms, you melt them down to get the treasure) I was curious if they were safe. It seems like a good idea in
theory, but I have no idea if these are safe.

whats with the wick?

I think this would be a really good recipe to let a little girl do.

I go through people's garbage to find cans for molds and pouring pots.
I get my wax from deli paper and the coating on turnips.
I process stearic acid from road kill.
I've developed a process to manufacture wicks from saved belly button lint.
I melt my wax in the sun with a magnifying glass.
I buy fragrance oil and dye with stolen credit cards.

Welcome to the "real" world of candlemaking. I'm really thankful I came to this site before I gave Michaels and Hobby Lobby's wax a chance. Did you happen to see the slab of wax from Hobby Lobby that was already scented and colored you just have to pour? Cracked me up. But congrats on your real wax.

I'm also fairly new to this. I started making candle a while back. I think when you start making candles it should just be for yourself. Even if I wanted to sell them I just don't have the time to do all that testing, and when I started I didn't even go to school, and I was still to swamped with everything to start testing. The very first candle I made was a pyramid candle. The flame was like 2 inches high. I'm glad I never really got it in my mind to sell one of those fire starters. When any hobbiest decides to sell his craft he has to be doing it for a while. I personally think unless you've been doing this for a while (years I'm talking) you should just enjoy them for yourself.

Wow!! Candle Man you should really be proud.

I like it. What does Hawaiian Lei smell like? I love tropical type scents.
-
i really like the "sexy candle". You should also try a black candle (I love black candles) with some red lace. Or a red candle with black lace. It also might be cool if you rename some of the scents to something a little suggestive.

Me too!!! I picked Baby Fresh. IT smells so good!!!
-
I bought four of those ice trays. I use them for tarts.
-
Oh that looks so good. I was wondering though, is that a wax straw or a real straw?
-
As I recall, that jar is about 16 inches accross. Near as I can figure, you'd need something like 13 or 17 wicks, depending on how you lay them out.
2 Gallons is gonna be around 15 Lbs of wax.
I figure a pillar might burn around 12 hours for every inch and these things are about 2 feet deep.... That would be 288 hours. That would be 12 days of solid burning. Even if I'm way off, that's a lot short of 30 days.
Imagine how much FO you'd need!!!!

I think it looks great. I love everything in it.

Hey guys, I'm about to order a sample pack from BCN. Is there any scents I just gotta try?
