  1. It could very well be that there location is not zoned to have actual retail customers. We have a zone here that you can store stuff and ship but are not allowed to have customers come to your property to buy. That's not even taking into account that insurance goes up if you have customers on your property as well. Lots of reasons why they wouldn't want you to come to the property that are legitamate reasons. But I think if I were them I would find a solution since you are that close. Heck, I'd even be willing to drive it over to you real quick. :)

  2. My recipe is 4-6g of FO per pound of Slat rock. 1-2 drops of candle dye. I mix all of it in a mason jar, then (while wearing latex gloves) pour out onto paper towels. Blot quite a bit and take a heat gun and slowly go over all the rocks as I continue to blot. I can make about 6 batches of 2 lbs each scent in about an hour this way. When I'm done I put the rocks back in the mason jar to store until I have an order for them. HTH.

  3. Just curious as to what everyone uses to keep track of inventory, sales, supplies etc? I looked at SoapMaker, but I only do candles and not sure how well that would work, I've also looked at a program called Craft Business Management System which seems awesome but pricey. I dont' have MS Office so Excel and Access are out. Right now doing most of this stuff by hand but as I grow I'd rather use the computer to help out :D. TIA

  4. It may mean the fact that when a wickless melts from the bottom up, sometimes the liquid part on the bottom will shoot up like a gyser(sp?) if the center melts and there is still unmelted wax on the sides. To keep that from happening on mine I poke holes in it as it's melting so the liquid slowly seeps to the top and the solid wax sinks to the bottom....hope that makes sense lol. I think I need some more coffee :grin2:

  5. I have 3...all with a spout, but I never use it lol. I just use a metal ladle to put my melted wax in the pour pots.

Also, you can melt a bunch of the same wax. I fill the presto bot with wax, then measure out what I need into the pour pots, then add Fo and color in the pour pot. That way I always have wax in the presto and onlly takes a few minutes to melt :) HTH

  6. That's possible. I was just curious. It is weird how different people can use the same recipe and get different results though. What works for one doesn't work for others sometimes hehe. I have some regular salt rock from a grocery store to make homemade icecream but never got around to trying it. Might do that later on my days off and see how it goes. :)

  7. I sell mine for $3.95 for 1oz of salt rock in the sachet bags...but it all depends on your market and how much people in your area are willing to pay for them. Most in my area don't even blink at that price, especially if they've tried one already. They last much longer than the cardboard ones you get in the stores for $1. HTH

  8. You should be able to just turn the mold upside down and they should fall out. If not try squeeze the mold a tiny bit to release it. If that still doesn't work put in fridge for a few minutes and try again. As for the wicks, are you using a wick pin? If so you should be able to push the wick through from the bottom. HTH
