  1. I poured about 15 fall tester scents today, my nose is in overload. My favorites are:

Red clove from Peaks- probably my favorite.

sage and cinnamon- wsp a very nice different scent

cinnamon bread pudding -TCS- nice not too sweet

gingerbread applesauce-TCS- nice ,but I think smells too sim to MC cozy home for me to use

chestnuts and brown sugar-WSP- very nice I have more of that scent from other vendors to test.

Granny's swingin eggnog -peaks- very strong can def smell the rum

    spiced pear-ICS- very strong

spicy cup of joe- ICS- like this one even better than our van hazelnut from mc.

I have some more to pour but I think I am going to stop for today.

  2. I now understand why wsp oils cost more. I ordered 4 and 8 oz. from fragranceandflavors.com ( a division of wsp) and got free shipping on orders of $50.00.. I got :

    Sage and Cinnamon

    Vetyver

    ginger peach

sun and sand (we love this and want to make a few candles for ourselves)

    chestnuts and brown sugar

    sweet cinnamon pumpkin

brown sugar and fig(yeah, I finally found one that smells like B&B

They are all amazing. I love them all.

  3. I didn't know they were having a sale. I just received all the samples that I ordered. I didn't pour them yet but oob I liked:

    Bear Claws

    seven layer bars

    spiced pear

    spicy cup of joe(my favorite)

    chestnuts and brown sugar

    orange cran muffins

    sugared spruce

Ones I did not care for, but were really strong were

    Witches brew (very strong pachouli)

    almond pasteries

  4. Carol K, It is so funny that the scents you picked out are mostly the ones we use. Cozy home is currently my new favorite, love the sweet orange and the cinnamon van, we market as cinnamon crunch, is by far our best seller. I just don't see many people on here that use MC. I can't figure out why. All our test well in our so, if we don't carry them it is not because of their throw, it is because we don't care for that particular scent. I'm just not sure if we are missing the boat, not having more suppliers. I just don't know where to start to order some variety from elsewhere. It is completely mind boggling. The more I look the more confused I get.

  5. I am trying to get our line up for our fall line and want to order some samples. We primarily use MC and B, lately not so much BC, their website overwhelms me. We started using peaks and have been very happy with their oils. I am getting so confused and overwhelmed with all the suppliers available. I ordered some samples from ICS. Their prices are very good and their shipping is the best I have seen. And I wanted to try the dup of Yank's Sage and Cinnamon so I ordered some samples from wsp, but couldn't help but notice that their oils cost much more. I am intrigued with the scent descript. at Just scents. Any to my questions. How to you all decide where to get your samples and how many different suppliers do you use. I love variety but need to be realistic about cost and shipping. It is a hard balance, being a fairly new candlemaker(about 2 years) I am trying to find that balance. Also I need to find scents that throw in C-3, need to use that, it is local. Thanks, Karen

  6. Good luck. Bath fizzies were the hardest thing for me to get right. I did several batches until it was remotely right . I decided that they have a mind of their own and will turn out when they feel like it. I have the best luck putting mine into clamshell tarts and letting them dry and then closing the lid.

  7. My husband brought some "oil dri" home and if this isn't the same sachet base I bought I would be very surprised. It looks exactly the same. I put it in a jar side by side with the others and could not tell it apart. I have been researching on the internet and the oil dri is a natural clay product that absorbs oil. That is what the person at the candlemaker told me to. I'm going to try the all natural kitty litter too. They sound like all the same thing to me.

  8. That is what I was thinking. It has to be close to the same material. It serves the same purpose of absorbing and keep the scent in it. We got the paper sachet envelopes at Candlemakers Store and you can't even see what the sachet base looks like. I'm having my husband bring some "sta dri" home tonight and then test it. Thanks everyone. I'll let you know the results.
