  1. ok, for those who make large batches and use the presto pot or turkey pot. Do you add scents directly into the pots? If so how do you clean them well enough so you can make another scent in the same pot?
  2. does any one know how to upload a power point presentation to you tube. for some reason it is not working for me?
  3. well wait a minute...I looked at my figures wrong.
  4. I have bought some FO from there, but I was looking around and see they sell tarts rather cheaply (I think) and you could make a few $ profit without doing the labor part. Same with the jars. I just have never used their wax so I am not sure how they are.
  5. does anyone buy tarts (or their jar candles for that matter) from candle source and resell them? If so, how good are they?
  6. how do you guys test wicks in jars? If a wick doesn't seems like it will work after 4 or 8 hours.. (1st and 2nd burn) and you have lots of wax left, Can I just pull the wick out and put a new one in with out it being fastened or should I just remelt the wax in my oven and repour it with a new wick?
  7. CS stills carries this wax Golden Brands 464 Soy Wax 10 lb. Bag - $14.95 50 lb. Case - $57.95 An all natural soy wax that holds lots of fragrance oil and helps reduce frosting. A favorite of soy candle makers everywhere!
  8. if i have the same diameter jar but different oz's, the same wick would work for both right because the wick goes by the diameter right?
  9. does any one solely sell Yankee fragranced candles? How well do you do? Do we have to rename them, or since our suppliers sell the FO with the yankee name, is it ok to call our candles that?
  10. when selling candles, you have candle with scent A and another candle with scent B. Now you use same wax, wick, packaging etc, but scent (fo) A is more expensive than scent (fo) B. Do you charge 2 different prices or do you charge the higher price for both and keep all your candles the same prices?
  11. well I use 4794 (paraffin) and I use cd6 for the most of my FO... when I use soy, ( pb soy) I usually use cd8 (could probably use a cd7)which seem to work fine..
  12. Not sure where you live, but have you tried Candle science? I know for me the total $ is cheaper..
  13. hmm, go to peaks web site and look up 4794 and it says Item is temporarily out of stock. It is not even listed under their waxes.
  14. thats where I usually get it, cheaper on shipping for me..
  15. I use 4794 as well and need more, may I ask where you ordered from?
  16. I will probably ask this wrong but let me try.. what wicks are similar with the burn rate and such.... example: if I have a cd8 or cd6 is there a htp, lx, rrd etc that is the same htp 126 is there one similar? the reason I am wondering is because if I use a cd8 in a 8oz jj, I would like to see if there is another brand of wick that is the same burn but may give a better scent output. make sense? is there someplace I can find this info?
  17. yes I have. It was good, not the strongest cinnamon I have found, but it work good in 4794 wax.
  18. has any one used wicks candle supplies before?
  19. WOW....I definitely think you are under selling yourself.... you would be making a profit of .25 per candle if that right?( estimating from my cost to make 1 votive if I remember right) 100x.25= $25 is that worth it? (hope all my math is right here)
  20. I know it is here someplace but I can't find it.. What do the numbers mean on zinc wicks? I have 44-24-18z I am testing in my votives and it mushrooming and has about 1/2" pool after 2 hours, so I am guessing this wick is too big. (best scent throw I have ever gotten though) CS has 36-24-24 Z...how much of a difference is this wick from the 44-24-18? thanks
  21. so with the price of crude oil dropping http://www.oil-price.net/ when do you think wax prices will drop back down? they probably won't right?
  22. I figured I would do to order, but then on the other hand, letting candles sit for a while makes the scent stronger correct? So really if made to order, the candles might not be the best they could be right?
  23. sell mainly to coworkers, family, neighbors and people like that. Do you make candles to order or do you make candles ahead of time and let them sit on the shelf until you get an order? which would be better.
  24. How long do you let them cure? I tried pure eco pb with 10% fo and I get a perfect burn but still no hot throw..( 3 day cure)
