  1. hehe! He's got no ears! :laugh2: I've been giggling about it all afternoon :laugh2:

I saw these little bears in a local shop for £1, BARGAIN I thought, so grabbed 6 for dipping as Teachers christmas presents. Got them home and unstitched the scarf... then the hat ..... then started laughing but omg they are soo cute.

Here's him dipped and smelling of Blueberry and cinnamon (my own concoction :P ) and of course wearing his hat! :cheesy2:

  2. Are you getting rustic? What temp are you pouring at? If you're after smooth and shiney then you have to pour hotter and have the mould in a water bath - I think - I don't do smooth and shiney very often :) If you pour cool you will get a rustic look with a frosting on it.

  3. Yvette, those are truly beautiful, really easy on the eye :wink2: Lurve the colours in the first 2 and the last one is just WOW. You said it is plain ..... did you mean one colour? because that orange one looks like its 3 really subtle shades gradullay fading into one another, or is it just the camera making it look that way?

  4. One quick question ..... I was staring at your candles again *lol* thinking how flippin gorgeous they were when it hit me that the little blue candle has the layers overlaping the wrong way! How did you do that? Did you wick it the right way up, as in the top of the mould as the top of the candle instead of the bottom of mould as top of candle? :cheesy2:

  5. Oh so you take the cookie cutter off before burning them? When I first read this thread I thought the cookie cutter was like a contianer to burn them in dohh.

Neat idea though. Could you not put some cling flim (food wrap) over the playdoh so that its not in direct contact with the wax, but there is still a seal there ..... if you know what I mean.

  6. Hi there.

I am in the UK so I don't know where you would get hold of some of the glass inserts for t-lights in the US.

To make them I seal off the open end of the t-light glass with blue tac (mould sealer??) and push it into place, upside down, in the mould I am using - making sure that it is centred and covering the wick hole. Then I pour my candle as usual. Once I have done my 2nd pour and the candle has set up COMPLETELY I push a thin wick pin through to wick hole until it touches the glass insert inside and push hard until the blue tac releases and the candle slides free of the mould. At this point you may need to remove any excess blue tac stuck around the glass insert but you can do this easily enough by rolling some fresh blue tac over it and it will come free leaving the candle top clean.

  7. aah no probs Anjie :)

I'll ask on general if anyone knows if can use polycarbonate. I didnt' like the look of the votive as the votive was shorter than the holder' date=' but I suppose I could pour a candle straight into the holder, make it the same level[/quote']

Of course you could, that would look fab.

  8. I received my new votive wick pins today so had to run out to the garage and use them asap :D They came out fab but how do I get the wick pins out of the finished votive *lol* and and and when I have managed to get the pins out of the votives and wicked them, do I have to hit the top with a heat gun to 'set' the wick - because the wick pin hole is bigger than the wick - or do I just leave it as is. I don't like the look of the tops of my votives after I heat gun them, I like em luuuvly and smooth :cheesy2:

  9. Sometimes you see candles that are just too good for words - sorry I am lost for words! Oh no, I found some..... Awesome! Gorgeous! Fabulous!

I love that brown one hiding at the back right there, what is that affect called? It looks like it's been chiseled out of wood :cheesy2:. Love those crackles :wink2:

    Great job.

  10. OMG those are stunning! How do you get such perfect mottles? I just get them by accident sometimes *lol* I never know how I do it - apart from maybe adding too much f/o sometimes :embarasse .

I have that heart mould too! I just love it, its my favourite mould.
