  1. Palm wax crystallizes on its own... in fact there are different kinds, depending on how they crystallize- starburst, feather... Candlescience has a tortoiseshell pattern palm wax and I have some of that coming later today! I'm so excited.
  2. Oh gosh... as soon as I posted, I found exactly what I was looking for.
  3. lol sorry we're asking all these questions... you're like the Glass Glow guinea pig!
  4. Do you have any burn photos? I want to see how the container wax burns! Gorgeous!!!
  5. If you are using paraffin without adding vybar, you can probably only use 1/2 oz pp before it starts oozing.
  6. That's a good idea... I think a lot of people would be interested!
  7. I placed an order a few weeks ago and have not received anything or heard anything.
  8. I have a couple questions about the everlasting pillars... do you use fragrance oil in them? If you incorporate a tealight cup or votive cup, is it removeable later? (for example, to clean wax out of the votive glass)
  9. They just replied to my email and said they would be adding CSN wick kits to the site later this week.
  10. At BBW it is mauve... and it does seem to fit pretty well.
  11. I have the regular yellow. I'm just using stearic and UV inhibitor. Maybe I'm just being picky
  12. Orange didn't help much, but I didn't think of brown! I'll give that a shot.
  13. I'm trying to get a nice shade of yellow with Reddig-Glo dye chips and I'm having the hardest time! I want it to be bright... well, about the color of all the cute smilies on here! (just an excuse to use them all) but the "yellow" chips give me a yellow that's just too fluorescent. I thought "gold" might be better but it looks about the same to me. I'm using paraffin pillar wax with stearic.
  14. I would go ahead and give them a try... why not? You could be missing out on an awesome supplier. I would just be careful and not spend too much money on the first order, just in case they do turn out to have icky or diluted oils. Don't spend enough that you would miss it if you had to throw out the FOs.
  15. I've been wondering this myself, since I just got pretabbed wicks for my pillars for the first time. I used a wick pin, then inserted the tabbed wick in the hole from the bottom, but the tab part is actually thick enough to make my candles sit just a little off-balance when I do it that way. You could always just cut off the tab! As for taller pillars... I have no clue.
  16. Have you tried weighing out the remaining FO to see how close it is to 1/2 the bottle? The shape of bottles can sometimes be a little deceiving as to what fraction of the liquid is really left. It does sound like you might be having problems with your scale though, if your NG 1 oz came out to 1/2 oz. It shouldn't be that far off, and I've found their measurements to be right on.
  17. I just read the email... I'm so tempted by that tortoise shell... like I don't already have my hands full with paraffin! I just emailed to see if they offered CSN wick kits. Oh boy.
  18. I would have to disagree with this... for me, so far it has been equal parts of both.
  19. I bought a few from "pamperedscentsation" on ebay and they seemed pretty good. I agree with sockmonkey- if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Definitely look at feedback (well, duh) Let us know if you find a good seller!
  20. It is a little weird that it happened this time when it normally doesn't... did you let the layers cool a little longer than usual? Was it colder in your house than usual? That would probably make them cool faster if you were going by time instead of look or feel. It may also help if you use a heat gun between layers.
  21. Obviously I'm no expert... but I would suggest burning that one all the way down, then if it's still working out well, pour the candles for hubby's coworker plus one extra, and burn that one down too... just because you might have done something a little differently the second time you poured them. I would also warn the person and try to convince them to help you test... lol! This is assuming that you are going to be burning the same fragrance. If not, you might need to play with the new one a little.
  22. I haven't poured it yet, but I just can't stop sticking my nose in the bottle of Coco Beach Baby from FOH. Please tells me it's just as yummy in wax
  23. Ooh, that's a good idea too. I'm getting sick of making orange candles, so maybe something more pinky would be nice for a change. I'll play around a little.
  24. WHAT?! Well, someone's not getting any more of your candles. Those are gorgeous! I especially love the contrast of the black and white. Very neat technique.
