  1. :laugh2: Same here with the hubby!!! I have about 150 and I really need to STOP BUYING,,But I am ADDICTED,,,
  2. Yes it is for canning and candles it says on the box,,,,Here is what it says for the candle instructions: 1. Have candle molds or containers ready with proper size and type wick in place. Follow mold manufacturers recommendations. 2. Heat wax in a double broiler, use an accurate thermometer with range of 120 to 210, When wax is at the proper temperture, colors, fragrances and hardeners may be added if desired. 3. Pour wax carefully into mold or container and let it stand undisturbed until wax hardens. Candles in molds may be poked to release air from around wick, then refill. As I said my friend died at christmas and I wax given this wax from her and we spoke about using a honey bottle shaped like a bear as a mold. But she didnt have a chance to talk to me further about this. Thanks for all your responses,,,I would like to use this and make something perhaps for her son,,,I just dont want to mess up,,,,:embarasse I googled the company that makes this ,,,YESSSSS http://www.strohmeyer.com/
  3. Actually a container can set up fine. BUT if you put it into A/C I will bet you that you WILL have wetspots on some of them. Go into wal-mart in the summer and look closely,,they get wet spots too,,,Prairieannie told me when I was a newbie,,,EMBRACE you Wetspots,,,sometimes you will get them and sometimes you wont.
  4. Hi Jami,,, If you have some Container Paraffin yes you can add it to soy. Container wax is softer then Pillar and will not shrink away,,Pillar blends are made to pull away so you can get them out of the molds. I have added IGI-4786 to 415 before and I still had to find that special wick. I have used j223 with 4786 too and it was a great combination,,, You just have to keep testing myfriend,,,,I have the waxes and wicks I always use but I still tinker with my wax to see if I can come up with something better I like,,The best person to ask would be Geekrunner,,He is good at this,,HTH
  5. Would Stearic help with that?? I was thinking if its straight paraffin could I make Mottled Pillars?? Or do I still need the Vybar 103? TIA
  6. Thanks Candle Man,,,I have not seen you in a while!! Hope you are doing well. Im going to try and do a couple pillars and see what happens,,,

  17. Well First of all,,wet spots are due to being cool,,,you wont get away from them in any candle and if you do thats great. The first thing I learned on the Board was from Prairieannie " learn to embrace your wet spots". If you look in stores like wal-mart you will see wet spots as they have air-conditioning on. I dont have problems with wet spots until the A/C is turned on way cool. And sometimes I dont get them at all. They are pesky little buggers though,,LOL:laugh2: As far as the box I put them in to cool, I havent seen any wet spots from doing this either. even when I store them in the carton to cure. Yes you will probably have to go UP in wick size for the 444,,actually thats with any Soy wax. I do not mind helping. Its what I am here for and to learn things I STILL dont know!!!,,,
  18. I dis-agree with this,,YES they do see the stickers and I am Talking USPS priority mail and ALL of my shipments have been handled very well and gotten to the destination within 2-3 days. I hate using UPS and avoid it when necessary...All my boxes I get from my suppliers that use UPS Are ALWAYS a mess. Im a wee bit crabby right now so sorry to seem snippy. We have a great post office and I havent had any complaints thus far.
