Any ideal what kind to buy and where to get it. I want to start making pillars and need some, also i noticed that alot of the fragrance oil says that there gel and parrifin safe i have fo for my gel candles. I was wondering what i can do to test the fo for the wax candles? Just keeping it safe, thank you

i played with soy even made a couple of glasses with it, i will post a pic later, gel just looks more real. Also i had a big problem with the soy frosting when i took it outside its very cold here. So i went back to gel.

do you use a wick with the metal tab at the bottom for pillar? I was wondering because i also found a plastic mold that i like and wasnt sure.

When using regular wax how long do you let it cool before you take it out of the mold , mine gets stuck. I used the mineral oil and whiped all the way around the container , still had to be put in the freezer to get it out.

What do you use to wick it, also mine wouldnt come out of the mold i had to put it in the freezer. I used mineral oil. Maybe i should stick to silicone molds , there easier for me.

i feel stupid , lol

How does everyone get the top of there pillars so even i used a heat gun and still doesnt look just right.

thank you, do you use mineral oil to get the ball and for pillar. I am very new to this didnt even buy the ball yet just fell in love with the candle. I made two small pillar candels and they stuck to the mold. I think i going to buy a new mold cause even with the mineral oil they still stuck.

i made some of those before i think it was a dragon and i put some glow powder just on the bottom also. Problem i had is that its kind of grainy and didnt mix well with the gel. I think there is a guy on ebay who sells it in liquid form i think u just put that on your rocks. Make sure you mix it real well cause it sticks to the bottom of the pot. You hold it in the light or under a heat lamp and it you see it light up. kind of cool just to much hassel for me.

i currently make only gel candles and playe a little with soy. I saw a metal ball mold that i would love to make a candle out of it. What would be the best kind of wax to use that i dont have to put in alot of additives. Also i m not to sure how to do it. Do i need to plug the bottom or what. Something thats not to expensive for my gel hobby takes alot of my money. lol

At my company they have picked up a soy candle with lotion in it. The labels reads only burn for ten minutes. When opening the container its the strongest smell i have ever in my life smelt from a candle. It says that its soy and cotton seed. I did not purchase this candle lotions because i have sensitive skin and dont want to take a chance. I only work in the accounting dept. but to me there asking for trouble with this one. A friend lit one and the wax didnt get as hot as normal but it still had a flame and it scared me. There is so much fo in the candle the top has a funny look to it. I do not think its safe to put something like that on your skin. just my input.

I would like to make my own , whats the best wax to use? Thank you

I wanted to make a gel candle with a motorcycle in it. The only place i found that sells glass motorcycles wants like 2.75 for one and they only carry red. I know i could make a forever candle and put a plastic one it there but i wanted something realistic. Anyone know of a place where i could get a glass motorcycle that was like a harley. thank you

As far as glass i love the 4inch ivory ball and wine glasses. I found them at candle and supplies.com, only problem wont tell you the shipping on bulk until you pay for the item. I have brought from them before but only small amounts. I am going to order my gel from brighter scents and my fo i just have to find the glass. thank you

I wish my pic came out better, first is a blue flower scented rose and a gay pride candle scented vanailla, last is a wine glass scented raspberry. I forgot one is a bride and groom scented strawberry, its a new camera and i cant work it right just yet. lol

i called them directly and they only sell in 300lb drums and are 2.19 lb i have found a couple i think im going start with 50lbs and see how that goes. IM not sure about the glasses i will have to keep lookin, thank u

Where is the best place to buy bulk gel and glasses. I have been buying my glasses from the dollar tree or dollars stores. I would like to get them cheaper then one dollar. As for the gel i have been buying from candle and supplies .com and a couple other places. Anyone with ideals, thank you.

thank you are always so helpful. I brought a kit over two years ago and that was the instructions . I have read alot lately on this site and others and realized i was under fo my candles. They are mostly for myself anyway. Now i want to sell them well not now i have more testing to do . but someday.

i have to say candles and supplies.com are pretty great. I just ordered from them and there package arrived two days later. Also i had a question and when i called a live person answered , I was happy . Now there on my list of favorites.

i think i figured it out it would be .6 on a scale or a little over half a oz depends on the weight of the fo. Let me know if thats correct because all this time i have been using alot less. So many web sites say different things, When i first started it was 1/2 teapsoon per pound.
