  1. 4 oz glass measuring cups from wally world. It works great. Measurements are accurate and its better than using the scale and plastics cups for me.
  2. I agree. ALso, you should tried different oils and experiment to see which ones you like in different applications.
  3. I am trying to narrow down my CP recipes to use only 2 or 3 bases only. I find that it makes a great bar for me but just checking to see what the masses would prefer for a great bar of soap. How does these numbers look for a Simple Base recipe? Would it be mild enough for a baby or a person with sensitive skin or should I lower the cleansing a little more? Hardness 37 Cleansing 17 Condition 60 Bubbly 31 Creamy 33 Iodine 59 INS 151 Thanks Meredith
  4. She is soooo adorable. You are truly an inspiration. So creative . I agree with the others don't dip the bear. Scent the roses maybe but leave cutie pie alone:grin2:
  5. No matter what browser I use, I still can't see the pics
  6. It looks good enough to eat. Wonderful job:yay:
  7. I use Coffee bean in soy and I tell you what, it will knock your socks off. I only use .5 oz to a pound because it is toooooo strong. I even used .25 with .75 french vanilla and coffee bean was still over powering. ICS has the absolute best Coffee bean out there.
  8. Been there done that. For me I add color after it has the vaseline look to it. I glopped a bit in a bowl colored it and added it back to the crock and stirred slightly. Mind you the crock is still hot or very warm so the soap is still workable. I just started the cphp this past week and I am loving it. Goto bath and body on the home page and can see the tutorial. It helps a bit but you can't tell what stage its in by the pics because the additive that was used. Also google cphp you will find a lot of tutorials with great pics.
  9. Yea, that amount does absolutely nothing. I have tried it at 1% and its alot better. Some scents still needs more thoughl. All scents are different so the base will respond differently. If I have to up the amount of fragrance I also add a little poly20 to keep the base clear. Hope this helps. Meredith
  10. I am trying to narrow my choices to under $100 and I am having a hard time. But theres no way I can let those sale prices go by without restocking on my favs. I know I have to get Monkey farts (the absolute best out there), dreamsicle, buttercream (GREAT) and a few others.
  11. They are beautiful now I can't wait to receive my order from the co-op so I can pla y too.
  12. Yea a lessoned learned and written in stone. I bet it was still zappy though:embarasse. I don't know why I wanted to do it and now i am even more confused that I am planning on doing it again tomorrow or tonight.
  13. Oh well, left the kitchen for a second and came back soap was everywhere, on my counters, cabinet and floors. So I threw it all away. I will try again later after I get the nerve or maybe stick to CP.
  14. Its still cooking and still zapping. Dang, its soooo frustrating. I threw my first batch away because my stick blender broke and by the time I got back from the store it was a hot mess.
  15. Okay, Today is my first day doing the crock pot HP method but I think something is going terribly wrong. First I got it to thick trace and placed top and let it cook. I stirred every now and then when it seemed to boil over or did boil over. Now it looks like mashed potatoes and it still zaps but around the edges where it boiled over looks like clear vaseline. Please help! What am I missing? Should I wait or just trash it?
  16. Thanks Ladies, Today I am hoping to come up with something.
  17. What mixes with this scent besides vanilla and buttercream? Thanks Meredith
  18. What type of wax is it? I purchased it before but it does not say on the bag and Patty says just american made wax:confused:. They have a 117 and 125 mp waxes. I wish I knew what I was purchasing. I use it because its local.
  19. I tried Monkey farts from candle source and ICS. The ICS has a more buttery smell like a cake of some type. Candle source has a great scent and throws strong in soy. I use it in candles and B&B. Great seller in both areas. I prefer candle source:grin2:
  20. The amount is at most half of that. Normally I would use a little less than .5 oz per lb. But sometimes .25 depending on the eo if I am mixing.
  21. Well for me people buy it based on the name alone (site unseen). Then once they smell it, I get more sales by word of mouth. So I would keep the name but I do understand your dilema because I have had people turn their noses up at the name alone.
  22. Thats beautiful IMO. I love the contrast and depth of the colors.
  23. Let me just say this. All gelluminations oils are not bad. All suppliers have some weak oils compared to others thats just the biz itself. I have tried some of their premium soy and regular oils. Some are good, some are just ok and some are not worth a dime. But like I said before you have to sample different suppliers because one supplier does not have the best of everything for example you may like pink sugar from gelluminations and hate it everywhere else but hate the rest the of their oils or you may love ICS warm vanilla sugar but hates gell's and so forth. Every supplier is different. I use several suppliers after trial and error and one supplier is not better than the other unless you include customer service and shipping into the equation, then thats another post all together.
