  1. :whoohoo: I think it's great, love the colors you got!

I'm so impressed that you're still soapin' while due to deliver-I could barely stand when I was ready to pop-absolutely miserable pregnant lady. ;)

So, when are you actually due? How exciting, a new baby! Do you know what you're having? Have a name picked out? I'm sorry I'm terribly nosey. LOL

  2. Yep, you want the cetyl alcohol NF. ;)

    Here's ny recipe:

    10% Ewax

    8% Stearic

    1% cetyl alcohol

64% liquid oils (castor, OO, coconut, avocado)

    14% hard oils (shea, mango)

    1% preservative

    1-2% FO

I use white sugar and turbinado sugar. White sugar is added until consitency I want, and then I usually add about 1/2 c of the turbinado, just for a little bit extra exfoliation. ;)

  3. I use extravirgin olive oil and castor oil for my ocm. My face is also very dry and I've found that a mix of 80/20 (evoo/co) works for me. I've also used jojoba in place of the evoo. The castor oil is the "cleansing oil".

    Hope this helps.

I use almost the same. I have "normal" skin, where it's not too oily nor too dry, just "normal" LOL

Ever since I started using the OCM, my face has just felt and looked better, haven't even gotten my monthly breakout (from Auntie Flo you know?! ;) ), since I using this method. :)

Sometimes I will also use my emulsified scrub on my face, but not daily, maybe once a week or so.

YOu just have to find what works for YOU and your skin. :)

  4. WOW woman, you're on a roll, just soapin' away at all hours! :D

I did almost the same exact colors for fruit slices the other day! :D

Of course, all my colorants separated and probably look like crap inside the soap (haven't cut it yet). :undecided

So, obviously I really like that color combination you have going there and the scent description goes perfectly with them.

You have a lot of cutting and pic. taking to do soon! (hint hint).

  5. Michi, if you want to try a good salt bar that isn't scratchy and has nice bubbles that leaves your skin feeling good, let me know. I have one that I can put in the mail.

Sure, I'd LOVE to try one of your salt bars Carrie, thank you! :) I'll PM you my addy.

I'm gonna try making some (got a recipe from BarbinAL-thanks) but I need to find sea salt, I guess they may have it at the grocery store huh? I don't have a super walmart, so I know they don't have it there.

It almost sounds like Michi used a salt scrub bar and not a salt soap bar. :undecided Salt scrub bars or glow bars/Apres bars will tear your skin up if you are not careful. My salt bars are not scratchy and I've never seen one that is. I can vouch that Carrie's salt bars are not scratchy either.

You know I think you may be right about that, it did get used up rather quickly-much quicker than a cp soap would, that's for sure. Hmm interesting.

All I know is I was feeling "out of the loop" cuz I was thinking I was the ONLY one who didn't like salt bars! :(

  6. Oooh my FAVORITE color-HOT PINK! :D Love the green with the pink!

Can't wait to see these babies cut-dying to know if the color will change at all. ??

So far, I'm not having very good luck with the colors I've used from the coop. :undecided

    Today I'm gonna use 4 of the pop colors-so we'll see I guess. ;)

  7. Oooh I really like those, especially that pattern you did on the ocean bars, looks like waves-awesome!

Tell me, what kind of salt do you sprinkle on them? I just love that look.

Ok, I may have to try my hand at these infamous salt bars, everyone seems to like them, except ME. Maybe I just got a bum bar that one time I tried it. ?? :undecided

  8. I really like the light color swirls in the first one, but I can see why you say you should have used more than 1/4 t. Of the purple, you want to make the color "pop" and live up to it's name! :D lolI REALLY love the jonquil soap with it's "pop" colors, you can really see the sparkle in them, which is usually hard to capture in a photo-good job! I'm sure its even more sparkly in person huh?! Kymber- I canNOT believe you didn't order any of the pop colors-girl, what were you thinking?! LOLI can't wait to try mine-the hardest part will be deciding which ones to try first and then finding an FO to go with the color(s)! LOL (which is sooo backwards I know ;) )

  9. I think candles with sink holes should have a repour b/c without it, it can effect the burn.In most cases if you have a sink hole its just going to tunnel down the middle, unless you use a big ol' wick that actually burns too hot for a votive-in that case you may get a fullu consumed votive but then you've created a more serious issue that could actual be harmful.99% of us here got into candle making b/c the candles we were buying were crap and tunneled down the middle. Why would you want to make a candle like that?

  10. Purdy Purdy! Awesome swirls! :D

I soaped the 24kt gold and (TRIED) the amethyst-the amethyst immediately turned a geyish blue so I added some neon purple to it and it looked nice and purple.

Then this morning the gold had turned orange and my purple turned light pink! :(

    We shall see.

Glad yours didn't morph on ya.

  11. Yep, Amish Harvest rocks in B&B and makes an awesome CP soap-it's a FAV. In the Fall and Winter months! :)

Anything pumpkin was very popular last year with all the big names, so that would probably do good for you this Fall.

Even Japenese Cherry Blossom might be nice since it has an oriental spicey flare which is a little heavier scent which IMO is worn more in the colder months.

Any of the heavier more "wintery" perfume types would be a nice addition as well.
