If you don't mind me asking, what mold did you use for the first two? I've been looking for one that has the wavy lines along the bottom like that.

They don't. They sell crafter's choice. I want to add that after using sfic for quite a while, I decided to try wsp's bases because of the lower price. I was not happy. The base does not lather as well, and the bars definitely did not last as long. I would highly recommend sfic over wsp's crafters choice.

I purchased the oil for this soap from Sockmonkey, and I LOVE IT!

I wanted to try to make a soap that would remind you of the moon. I used clear base, added a little bit of black (got an ugly looking gray), and added some pearl white mica to get a shimmery silver.

Luci... I've read that you can add a little bit of blue to the clear and it gives it more of a "water clear" look, instead of a yellowish clear. That's what I did with mine, and I think it worked. I was careful with the FO I chose too, I didn't want to use one that was too dark.

rebeccajo... I myself used Wilton fondant cut-outs, but you can use cookie cutters too. The leaves are hand-cut.

I finally got around to trying embedding with cut outs. I used SFIC clear base for the bar, and SFIC white base for the flowers. You can't tell from the pics, but the background (2nd layer) is colored light blue, and I added pearl white mica to give it some shimmer. Scented Rain Water.

I forgot to mention... One thing that is important is to try to get the second color to penetrate deep enough into the first color already in your loaf mold so that you will have swirls from top to bottom. I poured the white first at a much cooler temp, then poured the blue at a warmer temp and held the pitcher at a higher height (I hope that makes sense :undecided).

I wanted to add that when I made swirled soap, I used a white base and swirled clear (dyed blue) into it. I poured the white a bit cooler than the blue, when I added the blue I poured similar to the way shown on the video (S pattern). I used a butter knife to drag through the loaf a few times. One of my favorite things is that it will never look the same way twice. When you cut the loaf, it is always a nice surprise.

Here are a couple of pictures...the little specks in the white base are ground oats. Scented Ocean Breeze.

I think that this video tutorial shows a very cool swirling method, I plan on trying it out very soon. Check out Anne-Marie's other videos too if you can, they're great for beginner M&P'ers.

I have experienced clouding with my clear base. I prefer to use it in an opaque base.

I have read in the past that Bramble Berry's "own" m&p base is actually SFIC... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81780&highlight=brambleberry+sfic ... if you look at the ingredient description, it is exactly the same. I just purchased some goat milk base from them, and it was the best price I could find. 10 lbs for $25. If you purchase the 10 lbs, you get it for $3 a lb.
