I usually gently smooth the wax out wih my fingertips. I haven't had success with smoothing tops with my heat gun.

I would not be hesitant to buy on ebay if that was the best price. Just remember' date=' the total price you are going to pay is the item and the shipping like elsewhere. Some folks have a low price and make it up with high S/H charges. I have bought items that was not the lowest, but because the S/H charges were lower it was the best buy.[/quote']
This would be my thought as well. I've found that the lowest price wax may not be the company with the lowest price of the wax, but is dependent on the shipping charges that are added. I also like the comfort of having my suppliers' phone number and address (sometimes, even a photo of their store :smiley2: ) should I need to contact them about the transaction or product.

They look really attractive, especially the second one. IMO all your effort paid off.

Nice color! The wax looks very creamy and nice, what wax did you use? Also, would love to hear how the hot throw went and how much lavender EO you added per lb?

Very beautiful candles!

If after you try Candlescience's and you like them, they sell bags of 1000 at about half the cost. Just ordered my first bag of 1000 from them, as the 100 bags went so fast!

Hi and welcome!
Another idea to darken your colors is to add a small amount of black dye in addition to the main color.

Very nice:smiley2:

Thanks Eve, it's really helpful. I've been considering trying FOH oils and good to hear they perform so well.:smiley2:

I tried Candlescience's lavender that produced a mild cold and good hot throw in soy V-1/ C-3 votives.
glue gun??

I used a glue gun I had laying around for a long time, but the wicks kept coming lose until I realized there was a difference between low and high temp guns/wax. I was using a low heat wax/gun, rather than a high heat, hence they always came lose when the melt pool reached the bottom. I bought a high heat glue gun and wax at the Dollar Store and after that the wicks never came lose.
